Instead, now it’s all negativity.
People these days think it’s cool to be negative, say something is bad, and just move on.
But here’s the thing.
YOU AREN’T MOVING ON.
Instead, you’re lingering and bitching, like 24/7. Think it’s cool.
It’s not.
There’s a lot more factors at play than just one simple misstep. I’m not defending Bungie here, but sometimes it’s too easy to pull apart your complaints.
For example, people complained about how powerful exotics were in year one (cough thorn, last word, Gally, cough), so when Bungie makes them more sandbox appropriate, you bitch saying you want them back.
At this rate, I don’t think it’s the actual game or studio destroying the community. It’s the community itself.
This place is worse than COD
And for those gonna cuss me out, guess what, you can [Something that should’ve stayed in a dungeon]. Got it?
See ya

Not to be rude, but when has the forums ever been positive? Even in d1 days people couldn’t wait to bury this game and say oh this game is going to kill destiny. Nowadays I’m on here for recruiting or the rare chance I see a positive or unique post otherwise it’s same stuff different day.

Lol. I agree 273 percenct.
At this rate, I don’t think it’s the actual game or studio destroying the community. It’s the community itself. This place is worse than COD
we now live in hate/offended culture.

I read that topic and heard it said by the speaker in my head. XD "There was a time when we were much more positive. But that was long ago." Jokes aside, both Bungie and the community are at fault. You can't deny Bungie's role in garnering the reputation they now have as being the example of how not to treat your community. They've lied to us, scammed us, asked for our feedback while completely ignoring or failing to at least aknowlege the well written, well thought out feedback. You have the incident of banning all former Bungie community members from the forums simply because they didn't buy D2. You have people like Luke Smith who make statements on live streams along the lines of "we can do whatever we want and players will throw money at their screens" which translates to the community being dim wits who will buy anything we make. As much as I hate to say it, considering how big a fanboy I used to be, but Bungie has a very long way to go if they want my respect (and money) again. Community wise, there are far too many kids on here who post one liner "Bungie sucks" posts that do nothing but further encourage negativity. It's hard to be positive with D2 a lot of the time, but spreading negativity as it is will not inspire change for the better.

1 ReplyEdited by Ryda: 4/8/2018 10:15:35 PMWell my dear Rando the tiger You reap what you sow. The forums reflect the community they cultivated by the continuous "missteps" and their stellar communication with said community (compared to the likes of DE it`s less than piss pour) D2 isn't just one simple misstep but a darn marathon of missteps... unless you consider D2 and its making to be one BIG misstep, this inst their first game, if nothing else they had 3 years of experience with D1 to fall back on, they didnt. Weapons/armors in general are bland and mediocre, exotics in their majority fell like yellow colored legendaries, all for the same reason that the nerf circle was a thing back in D1, the one meta fits all (PvP and PvE) and the need to be "balanced and safe" for PvP. balence is needed but too much and it becomes monotonous and lackluster where everything feels the same, giving little to no reason to try different items of the same class, its death by stagnation. Basically bungie was listening to all the wrong things and pulling a Red5 and Firefall

The problems run deeper than you know, than Bungie knows.

You should take your own advice. If you don't like what this has become, move on.

Yeah right before a release of content. Before D1 vanilla dropped Before each one of its dlc. And the same for D2

1 ReplyIt's like the concept of two groups wanting different things is non existent.. Thanks for sharing.

11 RepliesIn a sense, these forums are positive. Every person that complains, does so because they give a damn about the game. They love the game. People want to see D2 become the world that Destiny was.

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 4/8/2018 4:19:55 AMThere isn't one single thing wrong with this forum as far as giving feedback. It's not anyone's fault that you choose to only look at the negative. Especially knowing there's a hell of a lot of positive post on this forum. So good luck on all that.

People are hurt. Hurt people hurt people.

The forums have always been negative, but there have always been "little lights" of positivity. The community has changed as well. In D1, Destiny was new and people were naive. In D2, people are scorned, thus, the hatred. You know what would create a positive atmosphere? Choice. You know what would influence that? Quality. I don't think I'd be on the forums if I didn't feel the game needed much feedback. If the game was actually good, more people would be playing it rather than hangin around here trying to get their voice heard and ideas manifested by frustration from a triple-A company that continuously fails to deliver a product the majority deem worthy of full retail price. Have a nice day :-)

Bungie's treatment of its community, fans and players has been described in gaming media as "abusive." Where have you been the last 3 years?

Edited by HiddenAlignment: 4/8/2018 8:00:35 PMWait, if this post is a person complaining about people complaining, then that would make people writing negative comments about this idea, people complaining about a person complaining about people complaining. Then that would make a person typing comments against those comments, a person complaining about people complaining about a person complaining about people complaining. It’s a never ending cycle of negativity! Who is the bad guy here?! What is the meaning of life?!?!

I'm positive the forums are still entertaining!
How about THAT for being positive? ;)
It was bad when I joined it, which was a few months after the d1 dropped. It just got much uglier around the beta and launch of d2. Got bad when they made the d1 year 3 pvp changes as well. There used to be more discussion and here, but it was always ugly with people all trying to out cool each other on the forum.

1 ReplyA post about negativity resulting in negativity but upholding positivity to be positive in a negative forum

1. It's my free time. I may do what I would like with it. 2. The reason people complain and there is a bunch of negativity is because the game is severely lacking in multiple areas and a large majority of players believe that the game is bad. (sorry if that doesn't fit your opinion :( ) 3. Most of the people who complain on here are complain in the hopes that the game will be fixed. Others complain because they actually hate Bungie now and they wish to see the game burn. Both of those are completely valid reasons to complain. 4. When you get to the point of complaining about people complaining you need to shut up. That good sir is ridiculous. The forums can (or hopefully will) become positive when the game gets better again. But that will take a LONG time. Because at this point when Bungie adds in the stuff people asked for it will be about 9 months after they asked, or the feature was already in D1. That's all.

Edited by Dredd_fan: 4/8/2018 1:58:40 PM“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” George Bernard Shaw. That is why players complain. Fanboys perpetuate mediocrity.

<I think the last time the forums were overly positive was Halo 3.>

You know, there was a time when my thoughts on Bungie were positive. Instead, now it's all negativity. People think these days everyone who dislikes Bungie is being mainstream. But here's the thing. I REALLY DISLIKE DESTINY 2. Instead of playing it I just linger and complain about it 24/7. If the game were fun I'd play it though. It's not. There's a lot more factors at play than one misstep(many missteps). I'm not saying Bungie is incompetent, but somtimes it's too easy to pull apart their bad decisions. For example, people complained about exotics being overpowered compared to other primary weapons, and now Bungie are doing it again. Guns like the Thorn and the Last Word were perfectly fine after their first nerf, but Bungie nerfed all of hand cannons as well for literally no reason, and then had to buff hand cannons and then nerf the Thorn and the Last Word again. At this rate, I don't see how you can't think the developer isn't destroying the game and the game isn't destroying the community. This game is worse than COD.
I didn't cuss you out, did I?
See ya!

But you really are defending bungie. Bungie listened to them. It’s all on Bungie. They could have done many many things but Bungie chose this path. The forums will come around when bungie makes things right. You bring up Thorn and The last word, you should be ashamed of yourself.
