With the announcement last week of updated raids, I realized the clock was probably ticking on getting my Flawless Raider trophy solo. After a number of attempts yesterday, everything clicked last night. To paraphrase Lord Shaxx: Crota and I had an argument...and I won. ;-) If you haven't tried it yet, it's definitely doable, even by an average player like me. Watch some vids, do a few practice runs, and go emerge victorious. As an added bonus, you can mentally taunt Eris as a scrub every time you pass her in the Tower. But get it done before the update goes live this month...no telling if a solo run will be possible after the patch drops. Thanks, fellow guardians! [spoiler] For strategy, I ran hunter to make it as simple as possible. Used Don't Touch Me guantlets and bladedancer invisibility perks for running the lamps. Switched to gunslinger (triple jump) and Bones of Eao for crossing the bridge. Used a mixture of Golden Gun and Sleeper Simulant to deal with ogres and shriekers before and during the thrallway. Also used Sleeper for deathsinger shriekers, and took her out quickly with the help of Celestial Nighthawk. For Crota, I kept that build to drop his shield easily and took my time in a cautious approach using three swords. Plenty of other approaches, but this one was simplest for me. [/spoiler] Edit 1: As some people pointed out below, the lower light versions of the raids are [u]not[/u] disappearing. Bungie was very clear on this point during the 3/8 livestream. However, in that same stream, during their discussion towards the end (while the VoG live demo is running), they do specifically state that for Crota's End, some changes are being made [i]even to normal mode[/i]. It is not confirmed that you will no longer be able to solo the raid after 3/28. But it is possible that the mechanics will change in all Crota modes so that you can't solo any of them. My advice: if soloing Crota is on your bucket list, completing that goal before the update is your best bet.
