On this day, October 31, 2016, I lost my lighthouse virginity. I got to see the glorious chest at the end of the lighthouse for its precious loot. And I'll be honest, it came with a price.
Being super desperate to go to the lighthouse, I paid $60 for a lighthouse carry. And you know what, I'm fine with that.
I don't have a dedicated group to play with. I don't spend time hoping for a free carry from twitch streamers. And frankly, I just don't care about Trials to play every week.
It's done. I've seen the lighthouse. And I'm never playing Trials again.
I'll stay in PVE and raids. That's what I truly enjoy and have fun in Destiny.
Edit: If you care about what I got from the chest, it was not a Blind Perdition. That I think would've made the price more justified.
Edit 2: If I had $1 for every person that is giving me backlash for paying a lot of money for a lighthouse carry, I'd have my money back and many more.

Play trials every week for fun, and don't expect to get to the lighthouse. That's how I found myself getting better at playing elimination, and ultimately going Flawless everyweek. It helps have friends that are calm and don't rage when you loose. I found a couple groups of people that I regularly play trials with and we always have so many laughs while playing. Win or lose its all fun. Getting to the lighthouse is just icing on the cake.

3 RepliesDamn I could do that half the price and by seeing my stats I could say I am probably the best around you will ever meet. But yeah many websites charge 80-150$. And hell if you have money you can use it any way you want, just do anything that makes you happy.
-
Why pay? I have never been to the lighthouse. I like you, do not have a regular PvP fireteam, but we are determined to get there. Last week, we had 8 wins before we lost our first match, then we bombed out after that. If and when we do finally get there, we will know that we have deserved the trip. You have wasted money, and cheated yourself out of a genuine achievement.

Why paid 60?it's not worth it,the game almost half way done.destiny 2 will be here by September.everything we earn now will be trash

That's like saying you paid for a 1 night stand. Why pay for something you can't cherish?

Edited by NYDIBS: 11/1/2016 11:14:27 PMThat's cool, at this point I'm tempted to pay for the vigilant disciple emblem just so I don't have to play anymore

1 ReplyWhat's the big deal on going flawless now? Personally I don't see the point, you're either going to be labelled a scrub that paid for the carry or a cheating SoB. I've ran trials cards barely a dozen times, most I went was 8-3 when trials first came out and since, only ran cards to help friends with bounties. Destiny isn't a competitive PvP game, the community is saltier than the Dead Sea. Also...congrats on the $60 emblem

I have a friend who does carries for 10 bucks....
-
Wow and didn't get the weapon you wanted. I didn't go flawless, but still got the Blind Perdition to drop on my 7th win.
-
I see why people pay for Trials but 60 seems like a little much. Do what you want, that's just my opinion.
-
3 RepliesUmm, 60$ is kinda ridiculous. Message me if you want a negotiable 15-20$ flawless carry:p
-
Pity you are not getting that $1 back for all the negative comments eh?... ;-) $60 is kinda steep isn't it?... I mean, join some clans.. there are plenty of skilled people out there that will help you there. Haven't gotten to the lighthouse myself either and for sure need two monsters to get me there but I would never pay to go. Any way, your money.

1 ReplyOk so op could have paid $20 and waited anywhere from a few hours to a few days in line for his run. Op chose to pay $60 and not wait. There is nothing wrong with this. some people have a lot of time and therefore the value of there time is lower. Some people have very little time making it more valuable. Op's time is very valuable and judged his price accordingly for his time

2 Replies$60 is nothing for a ToO carry. People are spending more 100+. Smh to those players, and the ones buying boxes. Put it like this, I'd pay for a sure thing rather than a chance at something. And obviously you got something you wanted. Congrats. What weapon did you get?
-
1 ReplyNice man hope you go flawless next time [Not sarcasm just being nice :) ]

1 ReplyAt the end of the day no matter how you look at it, it's the spender's business with whatever they do with their money in my opinnon. But anyways, congrats though. 🎉

Edited by Dunkinuts: 11/1/2016 6:05:53 PMI have no issue with you OP, your business. I have issues with Bungie, and there flag ship game type. The way it can be manipulated to allow this or rather cheating. I'm not saying your route to the lighthouse involved DDos but it's happening. Congrates to you OP. Edit: PM the crew that took you ;)

2 RepliesFellow guardian, you shouldn't have had to do that. $60 was way too high. There's guys around here and on twitch that just love helping people for free.
-
2 Replies$60?
why?
-
1 Reply$60 is high IMO, especially when there are people who do it for $10 or $20. There are people who will do account recoveries for $25, meaning you don't even have to do anything. Personally, I've won a few twitch raffles, and made a small donation for a carry once. Grats on making it tho

8 RepliesAww buddy, there are plenty of guardians that carry for free. :( Super happy you finally got to the lighthouse and I really hope it was worth the purchase, though. Congrats!
