I was playing iron banner and this guy wouldnt leave the lobby and he lagged every game. Eventually he lagged out. Or rage quit

Connection in Destiny is P2P. You can have perfect internet, but show "red" if you have a high ping to the host. Destiny's matchmaking often matches you with overseas players. That's the problem.

I do believe the report mechanism is an important tool for players to use. However, a player that reports another player based on connection quality, and then asks his or her friends to report that same player, even if those friends haven't played in the match, is wrong. It is the action of a petulant, spoiled, mean spirited person. Report and go about your business. If it is really too much to take then maybe leave the match and find another one.

1 ReplyI like the idea that someone else had.... put laggers in a lag purgatory with all the other redbars.

I have played quite a few IBs but this one may take the cake as far as lag goes. I have cable so it's like almost all cable(or fiber) in that it does NOT deviate. Ever. I'm wired. I'm always green bar and cannot remember a single time i was yellow or red, unless the entire lobby was yellow, which does happen rarely. I suck at pvp but it does prompt me to report people who are redbar for most of the match. I'm sorry but they are impacting myself and everyone else who isn't lagging. To be fair? I even will report randoms on my OWN team, even if they carried me to the win. It's the principle man! I agree that after 15 or 20 reports a guy should get a 24hr restriction from ranked pvp like IB or Trials. I suppose he/she could still be allowed in regular pvp but that's being nice, I don't want to be mean to these people, they aren't trying to redbar(i hope!) Have a great day fellas!

4 RepliesAre you insane? You're willing to give an idiot such as yourself the power to ban whoever pisses them off in this game's shitty PvP? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Edited by RagingPheonix00: 7/20/2016 8:03:10 PMReport it. If bungie did not want a bad connection tab it Would not be their, if it is a red bar it is fully covered under the bad connection tab. You are not in the wrong for doing so.

No. He shouldn't be banned.

1 ReplyOh, and if Bungie had the immense man power i would like to see people FALSELY reporting be punished. That's almost worse than lagging in my book. I hate when i see a youtube video and someone is clearly not using a lag switch and the guy checks off every single negative box on the report. DON'T! You're ruining the system by inundating these jerkoffs at bungie with potentially false info. Report for "bad connection" and be done with it. Report twice if you feel the need, but be honest.

1 Reply99.999 perc of people are not cheating. Its bungies problem. This is only game that acts like this on a consistent basis. All of you reporting people need to gain some knowledge on the way connections work in here before you go crying to mommy.
-
1 ReplySeen a lot of posts lately of ppl getting banned.
-
1 ReplyThey have been. Now you can sleep better at night knowing you wishes come true

They do get banned, eventually, but it's never going to be instantaneous to where you can get them actively removed from a lobby. Report the ridiculously laggy players. It does slowly improve Crucible.

10 RepliesBungie looks into this. I've heard of a lot of people lately who are getting a two week temp ban just for having bad connections. Enough reports and Bungie does actually do something.

1 ReplyI was lagging, but I had a download in the background that I didn't know, I always turn them off while playing this game
