Favorite Hand Cannon?
So late last night, after grinding for months, I finally had The Last Word drop from the Crucible. So I know I'm still early in my using it and it's not what it used to be in y1 or even before the April update, but I am not digging it. Probably because I'm so used to scoping with my hand cannons so hip firing just feels unnatural. I'm definitely a midrange player.
Anyway, to the point of this thread: what hand cannon(s) do you prefer?
My first choice would be Ace of Spades. With the third eye and firefly perk, when it goes good, it goes great.
Next would probably be First Curse if I'm feeling accurate, but Hawkmoon if I need more than 3 bullets to take down enemies.
Edit: It was brought to my attention that I never specified that legendaries are also welcome on this list. I also really love Eyasluna and Lord High Fixer. They both feel very well balanced as a hand cannon for my tastes, and as I stated before, I'm a midrange player.

Ace of spades is one of the best hand cannons I've used in a while. Feels and handles so nice. Plus you twirl it just like TLW. Wheeeee!!!!! Ah crap I dropped it... Sorry....

1 ReplyThe ILL WILL! I have final round and luck in the chamber on it. I still use it in crucible. It has the ability to one shot a player if you are a defender titan with weapons of light. Seriously, this gun destroys people. If you still have it, use it and tell your friends. If you don't, you are missing out.

2 RepliesI just recently got a Revelator with true shot IS ,Rifled barrel and Range finder that I'm liking more than my eyasluna. It's without a doubt the most accurate HC I have right now for the crucible.

5 RepliesHand cannons are my weapon of choice. I use a ton of them, all the time. Hawkmoon gets me the best results. Just has the best feel to it. Second for me, feel wise, is lord high fixer / imago loop. Just got an imago with sureshot/last resort/smallbore/hidden hand. I have an eyasluna with truesight/outlaw/rifled barrel/third eye. I should love it. I want to love it. It has the best stats on paper. But I miss more shots with it / phantom bullets, and it just doesn't feel as good to me. First curse.. Sometimes goes well, and sometimes not. Another gun I want to love, but it let's me down sometimes. That slow RoF hurts sometimes. And maybe it's just luck, but I do better with the same archetype Judith D. (Wtf?) Ace of spades is gnarly in pve, but I never have a reason to use it in pvp over other choices. And honestly, after hawkmoon/imago/fixer... I like the feel of the last word archetype fast RoF hand cannons. Revelator, Appellant III, stolen will etc. They are the most accurate for me, and kill so fast. They have the fastest ttk on paper, and I'm telling you they wreck. A lot of people don't think they're good.. And I'm not sure why. Their range is lower, so you can't hit headshots from first curse distance.. But I can almost always engage in close/mid range. I'm telling you.. They miss the least amount of shots from there. You don't have to pace your shots as much. And you will kill faster with them. Try them if you haven't ;) P.S. TLW is the only exotic hand cannon I'm still chasing. Probably the best overall. I'm scared to even know what will happen when I get it ;)

My Finnala's Peril.. truesight, last resort, Rifled barrel, 3rd eye(would've preferred rangefinder to last resort but it's still fun)

Kumakatok. I have a perfect roll in LITC, rifled barrel, and outlaw with sure shot. It's a thorn archetype rather than hawk moon archetype but man I LOVE it!

Eyasluna with max stability is the only HC I have any luck with. Wish I could use last word but I can't hit anything with it

Love my byronic hero with exploding rounds... just got my ace of spades today and i'm curious... used to be word of crota though, never got a fatebringer to drop either 😢

Eyaslyna, The Last Word, Hawkmoon, The Revelatory, Byronic Hero, and Thorn was awesome in year 1.

1 ReplyMy imago has Sureshot is Outlaw Extended mag Reactive reload My favourite perks on a hand cannon for pvp and pve... Use it all the time in pve. Its my minnie sniper cannon. Cant beat it ;)
