Any Y1/Day 1 Players remember.....
After the loot caves were nerfed, the next best place to farm for engrams was going to a location where two alien factions went to war. Me and my friend would go to the Ishtar commons and farm the war that broke out between the Fallen and the Vex in that area. We weren't even level 25 then, so the war was chaotic for us, and we got our @$$3$ handed to us, but it was a LOT of fun!
After doing endgame activities, when we needed to farm materials and shards/energy for upgrades, we would just chill out in patrol, waiting for public events, gathering materials, and farming those war encounters...
I may just be feeling nostalgic, but that was part of what made Y1 so much fun.

1 ReplyNah, I rememeber going to venus, killing those enemies in side that little room that included a servitor. Then, you would jump out the outside edge of the door and jump again as high as you could go. They would respawn. Rinse and repeat

Still a good scrap at skywatch when the enemy moves against each other, especially if they send in urzok the indestructible asshole.

Remember when Petra visited the Tower for the Queen, and you could go do bounties for the Queen, and obtain Queens Guard armor, shaders, class items, emblems, and the best sniper rifle in the entire game at that point, The Supremacy.

They really need to increase the number of "enemies are moving against each other" events. It's legitimately the most fun part of patrol.

The one in skywards still gets insane. I've had enemies at war, taken and that evil hive sword knight from the old eris quest going on at once for pure insanity.

That was my grinding area, back in y1, for a pretty good while. I still see people in there when I pass through, from time to time.

I just picked the game back up earlier this week after playing January and some of February, when I actually started ttk. I quit after I finished HoW as I just got extremely bored with destiny. My old friends and I 4 manned the Vault and Crota, and man was it fun. I had always loved the vault but after not doing it for a while and then coming back to it, those old feelings came rushing back. It was the most fun I've had in a long time in Destiny.

At least we can get legendaries from our damn legendary engrams now. Don't even get me started on grinding for materials in patrol.

I used to do that even when the loot cave was a thing. Way more fun! Ishtar Commons was my favourite spot 😊

All I remember is that hawkmoon was one of the best weapons I have used in fps's . Destiny year 1 was so refreshing. Love/hate relationship after that :(
