Why the Shoulder Charge nerf, Guardians?
Seriously. Shoulder Charge has been a perk in Destiny since the very beginning. Why are people starting to increasingly complain about "how OP" Shoulder Charge is?
What gives?
Is it because you're salty from a nerf and you want another class to feel the wrath of the nerf hammer?
I've been maining a Titan since Y1; I believe that there's nothing wrong with it. If I see an enemy on the radar (let's say it's a striker Titan) running towards me, I simply either pull out my shotgun or keep my distance from him and kill him off with my primary weapon.
I mean, you gotta give props to those who actually run around shoulder charging people, rather than camping in the map of the map sniping everyone.
But at the end of the day, if the whole community absolutely HATES the shoulder charge with a passion, here are my ideas on how to "balance" it.
[i]1. DO NOT change the damage output of the shoulder charge, keep it where it is
2. Perhaps buff high impact shotguns to the point where they can one shot a Titan who are in a shoulder charging distance from you
OR
3. Nerf the Titan's agility when the Shoulder Charge perk is equipped (maybe by -1 or -2)[/i]

3 RepliesOk, you may not agree or want to hear this, but it's my opinion the nerf call is basically revenge in a sort of class war. Bitching and complaining plays a larger influence in nerfs than many may believe. For example, in the patch prior to this one fire bolt and viking funeral wasn't touched. Many were surprised, but bungie didn't feel it was necessary. Then this last patch they released this: [quote]As promised, we kept an eye on Warlocks after the previous patch. Sunsingers, while not out performing other classes, are still creating frustrating encounters.[/quote] This sets a dangerous precedence. Bungie has now proven that they will nerf [b][i]NOT[/i][/b] because it's necessary ("while not out performing other classes"), but just because frustrated players bitch loud enough. I don't know about you, but if I were a player who mained a warlock sunsinger, I'd be pissed. Shadestep and the smoke had remained untouched since the release of ttk, almost a year ago. Now it gets nerfed? Perhaps because of all the increased bitching and complaining and over the last two months? Maybe? So, what you have here are pissed off players who main a hunter or warlock on one hand and players who main a Titan who have been using the shit out of shoulder charge on the other. F*ck with my shit and I'll f*ck with yours. The predominant amount of people asking for the hunter nerfs probably weren't Hunter players. The predominant people asking for the Warlock nerfs probably weren't warlock players. Shoulder charge alone is ok, but the way it's being so grossly over used [i][b]IS[/b][/i] the problem. It's drawing too much negative attention. So, your argument saying that shoulder charge isn't OP is moot. It doesn't matter anymore. [b][i]ALL[/i][/b] that matters is, are players over using it and drawing too much negative attention? Titan players over using shoulder charge [i][b]IS[/b][/i] drawing too much negative attention. Add to that the animosity from Hunter and warlock players and you have the potential setting for a minor class war. In my personal opinion, this is the reason for an increased call for shoulder charge nerf after almost 3 years. Plain and simple revenge. I could be wrong though.

1 ReplyIts fine the way it is if they stand there while a titan charge them and they die its their fault it not hard to move out of their way or kill them.
