Primaries are Underpowered

It's indisputable. The Crucible is completely dominated by special weapons being used as primaries (often literally) due to the ineffectiveness of primaries. Most have no range, very slow times to kill and are generally very inconsistent. This allows specials to very frequently outmatch them in every aspect. Primaries need a range/DPS buff so they can reclaim their rightful spot as players' main weapons.

    Hand cannons are terrible. The phantom mullets are really starting to wear thin. Edit:lol, mullets I meant bullets.

    • The only primary weapons that need to be buffed are high impact autos, high impact pulses. People snipe on every map because there's no reason not to. Everyman is a sniping map. I mean that Mars map with the heavy on bravo up on snipers perch is just downright offensive. It's suicidal to attempt to grab that heavy.

      • I agree, i mean just look at the dealbreaker's stats compared to shadow price. What happened? You would think guns would get better and stronger with every dlc but no. They have been incrementally getting worse and adding bad perks adds onto it. Vanilla destiny perks were perfect and useful, while dlc perks add stat booster that work on occasion or in rare circumstances like: life support, last resort, surrounded, underdog, and upclose/and or personal. These perks only make it harder to reach those vanilla perks on a good roll.

        Yes they are, pretty much every weapon and every perk has been nerfed. Ontop of that, classes had more survivability added too them. Chest pieces that give more armor, shadestep, twilight garrison, all add more survivability. Also, even though some weapons TTK hasn't been changed, their stability, accuracy and just general overall usability had been nerfed.

              Its not so much that they are underpowered as much as that they are simply dull The majority of them are dull and uninteresting and are rarely ever unique and chances are if they are unique they are usually deemed OP and are nerfed [spoiler]Mythoclas, Thorn, and Last word to name a few[/spoiler] while specials are often unique enough to offer tons of fun gameplay because I know that at least for me I hate using almost all primaries purely because how boring they can be played compared to the specials [spoiler]but to be fair this makes sense since they are[i] special[/i]s but none the less Bungie should make some exotic weapons that are actually unique [/spoiler]so what Bungie needs to do is add uniqueness to the primaries or maybe if you want they could increase the skill gap for specials but the last thing they need to do is increase primary dps because that would absolutely ruin the time to kill which would in turn lower the skill gap and make this game ever closer to being like Call of Duty which is the last thing we want right?.... [spoiler]yes... the answer is yes it is the last thing we want[/spoiler]

              • Here's the thing buff primaries then you have a problem with something else. My shotgun sucks now boo who sniffle sniffle. Same old song and dance just about different shit. If anything I would like a primary only mode but I think it would be a Mida fest which would suck too

                Bungie need to give everyone ammo at a set time instend of it being pick up becuase it mess up how special dominate pvp My idea is to give everyone a clip and a half and every 2-3min you get an other clip in your inventory so you just cant go pick up all the special ammo but sidearm should stay the same

                  • Well if I have special ammo right, I'm going to use it because it puts you down faster (like it suppose to and even side-arms). Primary are being used. I've been slaughtered by the Mida, DOP, Hawksaw, eyesaluna, last word, First curse. So saying that specials dominate the battlefield is untrue. If you expect to win a match where a shotgun is a foot away from you and you had auto rifle at that moment then that's ridiculous. Or battle a sniper aiming down across the map and you wish to challenge with a scout rifle, by all means go ahead but the sniper has a higher chance of winning that fight.
