Petition to let anyone, even if they don't have TTK, to reach lvl 40

Nope. We payed for level 40 and all of the perks it entails. Pay for it, sit and whine that you don't have it, or get over it. Those are your options.

I own TTK and think this should be allowed. Given you can't run the strikes and missions but you should still be able to level up and enjoy the game as always

7 RepliesIf you don't buy TTK, you don't need level 40. Level 40 activities drop endgame, level 40 gear which is only useful to those in TTK. Level 34 is fine for the rest of the content. Or pay your $40 to continue to support the game you ENJOY playing. And TTK is pretty awesome!

why not? not like they'll be substantially stronger since they won't be able to get any TTK gear with the higher light. it'll just be something else to push the purchase on ppl when they check out gear n they meet all the criteria except for "Requires The Taken King"

The level 40 cap is part of TTK so why should they be able to get there for free. It wouldn't be fair on the people who have forked out for it. Go save some money. That's what I did.

I voted No. Level 40 is not required without the taken king missions and enemies. Well, apart from the next Iron Banner as well but that can be added to the reasons to buy TTK. I would vote Yes to non TTK players getting their own playlists based on HoW and older content at upto lvl 34.

dont worry you will get to level 40..... when they release the next DLC and the level cap goes up again to even higher for people who actually bought it. People who do not own TTK have no reason what so ever to be level 40 they will out level the activities that are still available to them there would be no point.

If your not going to buy TTK then you don't need to be lvl 40, and honestly there's nothing to do if you're not gonna buy the DLCs so there no point in playing

Why would you care about reaching level 40 if you don't have TTK? It's not like your current content would get any easier. You gear would still be the exact same as it was before, making you the exact same effectiveness against everything already anyways. Just buy the damn thing and get it over with. You people knew that the level cap was going to get raised beforehand. You knew that you weren't going to be able to get the level without buying it. You knew beforehand that a lot of the stuff you were doing was going to be obsolete. Just buy the stupid thing and stop polluting the forums with the same damn complaints over and over again. You know what I'm going to start doing? I suggest all of you start doing this as well. Instead of adding these no-brainers into my mute list, I am going to start reporting them all for spam. Done deal. If you wanted to complain about this crap, then find another post (not that hard, just throw something onto your screen and you'll find one) and complain there. Or maybe you should check with all the other polls that backfired on the OP's that thought everyone would be on there side. Maybe you all can go to couples counseling. and figure out why no one likes you.
