This game is complete bullshit. Not only do they make almost half the game require the DLC but with every new DLC they come out with they limit what players without the DLC can do. Like with The Taken King now you can only play 3/8 of the game modes in the crucible and its not like they even just have the DLC add content because the content is there its just locked. I want to know why pay $60 for a game that slowly forces you into buying the DLC's , like if they want DLC to add content that is fine but don't make me look at everything im not getting while I play. Its just a bullshit scam to make people want the DLC more because they see new levels that are locked which makes them more susceptible to spending money and Bungie definitely knows that.
* I would like to add this isnt about how good the game is or how much money the DLC cost this is about how on day one when destiny was released there was more content in the base version then there is now in the base version. Basically bungie took content they had no right to take and added it to the DLC to make money.

1 ReplyI'm really sorry you don't want to pay some money after the second year. You probably buy every CoD that comes out every November. It's the same concept.

It's funny how the only people complaining are people without the taken king.I don't know a single person with ttk complaining about destiny.

6 RepliesIf they read the message boards and realized they dicked every faithful guardian who hasn't picked up the DLC, then re-open all the old content as it was preTTK, I'll consider buying it. This will show they are concerned about the longevity of the series. But tagging this for $40? You know what I see that happened in the meeting room? Bungie: Alright guys, TTK is finished, let's get the expansion rolling for $30 a pop Activision: uhhh make it $35 or we will chop this content into quarters spread over 8 months, and you know how things went last year. Bungie: Okay, I guess 35 is still a bit reasonable. 35 it is. Activision: We meant $40. And throw the killswitch on all events prior to TTK. Force them to buy. And while we're at it, take out the new dance emotes and let's sell them $20. I'm not lying. These people are so dumb they'll buy anything. Pretty soon we can start selling shaders for $5 a piece then do away with glimmer completely and use real dollars. Then, since they're calling us an MMO, we can can begin monthly subscription. This way we can update once a month and trickle an entire expansion over a years time. Occasionally we will sell DLC, well let's call it an expansion to give it more bang for our buck, for $40. Then hit em with a brand new disc. Let's cut disc content to 75% but tell them the other 25% is bonus content and they can buy the entire thing for $100! Exciting right? Ten years right?

To be expected with a game designed and stated clearly several times to "evolve"?

4 RepliesActually you are confused. Vanilla Destiny players can still play what they paid for with no probs. They paid for a game with a Raid. This game has a lot of MMO aspects. Destiny is embracing those more and more with each expansion. MMO's have their game, featured stuff and endgame content. Vanilla Destiny got you to level 30 with a Raid. However as with most MMO games, the endgame content moves with the game. This is the case with the Nightfall, weekly and daily. These are tied to the NEW endgame. Next, you complain about not wanting to see stuff you can't play. Well, here is your problem. You are playing an "online" game. Online game will always show the most current content out there. They are not going to build 4 separate versions of a game because some child doesn't want to see what he is locked out of.

If it's so bad, what are you doing here? It has clearly gotten a grip on your emotions and you can't put it down. Otherwise, you would do what normal people do when they decide they don't like a game anymore...play/do something else

Then don't play it and stay off the game's forums.

9 RepliesTo be honest: those without DLC should be restricted to the launch title activities only. Consider yourself lucky you got anything for free.
So I've paid for Netflix for an entire year! I've invested so much time into Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, I even grinded every episode of Friends last month! Now, I log in today and all of it is gone! I can't even watch movies that I have been able to watch for a full year! I don't get it. I've been a loyal customer for a year, and just because I stopped paying, I get locked out of content. Well I wont be giving them my business anymore, scammers.
Do you get it now?

2 RepliesPlanned obsolescence in industrial design is a policy of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life, so it will become obsolete, that is, unfashionable or no longer functional after a certain period of time. The rationale behind the strategy is to generate short-term sales volume by reducing the time between repeat purchases, until customers catch on and move to another product platform.
