This has gotten out of hand.
Listen. I get on these forums just about everyday and sift through the information. Now I say sift because there's a large amount of complaining that takes place every single day.

No. There's really not. There's the CE glitches. The heavy ammo loss. Also the remnants of glitches still plaguing the VoG. But those are all things that can be [i]fixed[/i]. The problem I'm seeing on these forums is that people have expected WAY to much out of this company and title. This is not the bungie of old folks. This is also a style of game that has never really been attempted (with success) on consoles. Let alone on consoles new to the market.

This ladies and gentlemen is probably my biggest pet peeve on these forums. When you bought this game what were you expecting. Have you ever played an mmo rpg? No? If you had then you'd know that boring should be in the title of each and every one. They're grindy. They take a lot of time and effort for sometimes little to no pay off. That's the beauty of it. This isn't call of duty where you unlock your weapons at certain levels and then woosh, away you go killing things. There is a level of patience and commitment that I think many gamers simply don't have. This brings me to my next point.
"Xurs inventory is so terrible AGAIN!!! Where's me heavy ammo synth?! Where's my gjallahorn?!"
This one probably takes the cake for the most obnoxious and misplaced hatred. No xur did not bring your coveted launcher. He did not bring you heavy ammo synths. He may not have brought you anything useful. But he will be back again next weekend. Something I don't recall seeing in similar games. Bungie decided to HELP the large majority of this community who don't have time to find those exotics to boost their light level. Even if you don't "need" items he's selling you should buy some anyways. It's always a lot more interesting when you switch up your classes and use different abilities and weapons to freshen your play style. Do I need the sun breakers? No. But I'll sure use them and enjoy a new way to play my warlock. Same with my hunter and titan.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that the people who openly complain day in and day out need to just stop. If you're so unhappy with the game then leave. There's no reason for all the complaining. If anything its a waste of energy for all parties involved. This game is not perfect but it is what it is. And that is an infant mmo rpg on a console in its infancy (I play on ps4 respectively). It's gonna take time. A lot of time to get right.

1 ReplyHorseshit. The bugs have existed for months and CAN be fixed but the aren't. New ones are introduced because the people who cheese deflate their egos and still continue to cheese regardless of their efforts. There is no defending what they do to their own game and either refuse or cannot fix. This shit wouldn't be happening on PC and botch consoles are over a year old and based on known similar architecture. These are flaccid excuses and pathetic. Get rekt m8.

Pvp is barebone, getting more maps, but really only two game modes. Pve is barebone with a story that dosent explain anything, and bungie then creates the grimwore cards that you cant access in the game. Didnt really give any story there either. Dlc didnt help much either, bountys are repetitive, everyones a carbon clone of the next person, to the point where "become legend" only applies to the first one to get all the gear. They promised a new quest system like bountys with crota's raid, but turns out it was only one quest, that gave you a piece of armor that was crap, and a alternate cool version of a level you cant play again after. Honestly, a LOT of things ride on House of Wolves. Like nearly half of this whole comunity. Pretty sure they're awarr of it too.

People are not upset because the game is boring, they are upset there is not enough content to sustain gameplay, without endless repetition. Compounding this is Bungie's reaction to the game not having enough content is timegating. They artificially prolong gameplay by putting a limit on progress in all forms. Glimmer cap, mark caps, weekly event and reset, etc. People are upset there is no story. In addition, anything resembling a story is not in the game, extremely disconnected, confusing and overall not player friendly. Each grimoire card appears written by a separate intern. People are upset with what appears laziness by the developers. Armor and weapons are frequently re skinned. Strikes ran in reverse and labeled new. People are upset at the extremely flawed loot system. People are upset by DeeJs cocky, non participation with the game community. People are upset that Bungie sold out to activision and start shitting on players with a DLC money grubbing tactics. Some of the latest research suggests the most effective way to make money on a video game is to take a feature away, and then charge a micro transaction to get the feature back. Example- free game on a phone, let's you play for a week for free but then take away a feature and mind-blam!- the player into buying back that feature. Example TDB DLC takes away weekly strikes some weeks for players without DLC. People are upset by the priorities bungie has set up regarding game fixes. Bugs that prevent legitimate strategies are ignored, bugs that let players cheese - instant fix. People are upset that Guns are nerfed in PVE for reasons only applicable to PVP. People are upset how the DLC introduces new currency rendering existing currency basically useless. I can go on....

Well said, people just like to bitch and moan, we all do It, it's in our nature, unfortunately the Internet brings out the worst in People, so it happens alot more, add in many more young kids thrown into the conversation and we have ourselves a bitch fest. Every single damm game ever made has flaws here and there, even if it didn't to you, someone else thinks it did. For example my all time favourite game is final fantasy 7, played it at least 20 times from start to finish (once maybe twice a year normally) since I was about 8, I still enjoy it even with 90s graphics and just reading text. I have many friends and know many people that hail it as the best game of all time. But I also know of people that don't like it, some people didn't like the storyline, personally I think these people are crack addicts, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I sure as hell didn't (or couldn't) go online to a forum and bitch about it though! But on the whole, most day one players have logged 250-1000 hours on this game, how much do you bloody expect for 50-80 pounds? Seriously? A never ending game? To put it in to more simple terms. You can go and buy a game such as assassins creed unity, for £50, for more decent players you could play it for 2 solid days) (so about 20 hours) start to finish and complete it. Maybe 10 hours more of side quests before its on the shelf or taken back to be traded in as it's done. So times that by Ten, you have £500 to equal less hours of gameplay you have gotten out of destiny. To reach the 1000 hours of hardcore players your going to spend approximately £1500 (give or take if a few games are a day longer) to get the same play time. What more can you expect????

1 ReplyUsually the loudest "no content" complainers have hundreds of hours in the game. Hundreds. Show me a game not repetitive after hundreds of hours. Average game length is 10-15 hours for an fps. If you're going to play through that 20 times, i'm sure it will become repetitive too.

5 RepliesYou couldnt be more wrong, you mention the glitches as if its a minor hiccup but the glitches in this game arent minor, they are game breaking & i think ppl have every right to complain. People like you damage the community more than the whiners, how do you think things get fixed? because of the ppl that complain & kick up a fuss, i understand theres a lot of crybabies but theres also valid complaints that cant be swept under the carpet. Without complaints a broken game stays broken, theres only 1 thing worse than a crybaby & thats someone trying to be the voice of reason & getting it completely wrong.

Great post! The game will get better in time or no one will play. I still love playing with less that 100 hours since launch! (when they say the average play session is three hours, I laugh because mine in less than an hour!)
