So I picked up a fang of ir yut last week and levelled it up. Today when we beat the raid I got another, of course, cuz that's how loot works in destinyville. I broke that poo down since I don't have time nor vault space to level up dupes. Now I never really appreciated the power of fang until running the nightfall tonight. I use it after lanterns in CE, but in nightfall it was hitting for 3055 with my lvl 31 warlock on crits. That's nice. Meanwhile I'm glimmer farming the weekly event, so at the refinery I go to switch from thrallbringer to fang while simultaneously loading a black wax and don't I get a little unguarded and hold the X over my fully upgraded gun. Uh, no that's not black wax, that's radiant energy and weapon parts for you. Costliest nightfall I've ever done. TL/DR. Traded max Fang of Ir Yut for 8 ascendant shards in a nightfall.
