The massive outcry of those who owned the Icebreaker prior to Xur carrying it is just a fascinating lesson in human psychology. The argument seems to be: "Now the Christmas newbs can buy it, and that's not fair because they didn't EARN it. Now my Icebreaker is worthless because everyone else has it!"
This blows my mind for 2 reasons.
1. The Icebreaker bought from Xur is infinitely more "earned" than a drop from RNGesus, because you have to actually grind to obtain strange coins, thus truly earning the right to purchase and own the weapon.
2. I got my Icebreaker in a totally random drop, and I'm not upset that my friends can now pick one up with strange coins they saved up and earned. It only makes the game better for us all. Now we can more effectively run raids and nightfall and weeklies. The fact that anyone would be outraged over the Xur Icebreaker is a reflection of pure human greed and the obsessive need to be a special snowflake.
It's great that Xur is carrying items that are more worth buying lately. It's a heck of a lot better than seeing Sunbreakers for the 80th time, or a terrible exotic like the No Land Beyond, isn't it? RNGesus, guys!
Bump/like if you agree.

1 ReplyThe outraged ones are selfish bastards that think they deserve more stuff because they have played longer.
-
12 RepliesThe ONLY gun I consider earned in this game is Mythoclast due to what is required to get it... Everything else no.
-
I'd venture to guess that 75% of the ice breakers owned prior to the last sale were obtained from the first time xur sold it. Those Wernt anymore 'earned' than the recent ones.
-
It is weird that he sells it, and I get one to drop right after . Maybe it's rng paying me back for always getting the same exotic drop over and over and over. I keep getting the same gun and the same arm piece. on the bright side, I have plenty of exotic shards now .
-
I thought there were destiny gods who decided who was worthy for the most epic drops, and I keep failing to get these weapons because I have angered them.
-
I was glad that he sold it, now I don't have to carry my friends.
-
Who cares how you get it all that matters is you got it
-
You act like you earned something that you get completely random at any time you could run over a dreg with your sparrow it could drop a legendary engram that engram could be an exotic ITS ALL RANDOM! Quit acting like you've earned something
-
1 ReplyRNG drop is earning more so than two simple weekly strikes.
-
Bumpity bump bump
-
Neither way is earned, rgn is complete luck and strange coins are very easily "earned" ran omnigul just before on all 3 chars took 40 mins give or take. You don't earn guns you just get them.
-
But I want to be a special snowflake.
-
I finished a nightfall and got it. Anyone who beats 2 lvl 30 weeklys for the coins to get it did just as much work as I did.

2 RepliesEdited by IrishTheSavage: 1/19/2015 7:24:15 PMi slaved away carrying some NEW to the game friends in a level 28 weekly just so they can have coins to buy it.. and others hating on this it blows my mind! Ice breaker doesnt break PVP so who cares if everyone has it! i rather everyone have it lol
-
I wasn't upset. My friend who has missed it twice due to his absence for extreme medical conditions was finally able to grind the coins and get it this week, and we were stoked for him. If I have to deal with a couple horrible Christmas noobs failing with it in the Crucible/Iron Banner as a sacrifice for him having it when we raid, I'll make the trade.

Yeah HughMons are dumb.
-
23 Replieswait until its Gjallahorn, then not only will people be bitching about that but also no one will be pronouncing the weapon's name correctly
-
5 RepliesEnough with the "Stop the Hipster" campaign. It's been four days and I've still haven't seen one thread complaining that Xur sold the Icebreaker.

Edited by Delete myaccount: 1/19/2015 6:02:23 PMMOST not ALL of humanity are complete scum, that's what I learned in psychology.
-
They had to earn those coins, and they had the be patient for Xûr to sell it. Besides, this is a good thing! Now Raids and Strikes will be easier for the group(s) to complete!
-
Yasss all this stuff thank you sir
-
3 RepliesXur should not sell Exotic items, it was a slippery slope the moment that he did.

Bumpity Bump Bump!

4 RepliesYou know, it's people like you that keeping bringing up this issue, so it will never die.
-
1 ReplyHahaha! U have a total of 5 completed raids between VoG and Crota. You haven't earned anything yet.

Well I don't agree with all of ur post I've had the breaker since week 2 or 3 and love it and I'm very happy that I can go into a strike and hear not 1 not 2 but 3 breakers tearing shit up. Not all of us owners of the breaker are self entitled little ass holes
