When playing as a Sniper in Destiny, how many Sniper Kills do you end up with compared to Primary Kills?
Also, what is your go-to primary?
I'm just learning to snipe. I just had a decent outing (by my standards) with 13 kills: 3 Sniper, 10 Hand Cannon. I was first on my team for most of the match and finished 2nd, and I think 3rd overall. Is that actually "decent"? Slso, does 1/3 as Sniper Kills and 2/3 ass Primary Kills sound about right for the constantly moving Destiny style of Sniping?

Nechro. I usually use a sniper way to often and go for sick clips when I really should just use my primary.

Edited by Hooojam: 1/9/2015 9:21:15 PMif you're good with snipe, and have decent teammates to draw out the enemy, a majority of your kills will be with snipe. The only time I pull out the primary is to clean up or to support a teammate. Sometimes I play with a certain primary just to get the feel for it, but if I'm playing for the wreckage than the snipe is out 90% of the time. My favorite primaries right now are: Red Death, Lord High Fixer and MIDA Multi-tool, geleon's demise is good too.

Edited by ukigigi: 1/9/2015 1:56:21 PMi have 5100ish kills with my sniper and just over 2000 with the auto rifle... i didn't start sniping with PaT until the second iron banner, but now i can't put it down... 80% of my game kills since the second IB are with PaT - i use it on every clash/control map, every game, but hey, that's just me.

Edited by MoneyShotUrGf: 1/9/2015 2:40:33 PMI use Praedyth's, and usually 25-35% of my kills are sniper kills, half of which on average are headshots. As for a primary, I run with Vex or VoC, generally (unless there is a specific bounty). The number of sniper vs main kills is going to depend on your playstyle. My ratio of kills more matches yours, but I've seen people snipe only opportunistically and others camp all game in the same spot and snipe. I wouldn't recommend the latter, personally, but there is no specific "ratio" that you should be aiming for. Just experiment, find out what works best, and refine. EDIT: If your playstyle is more of the careful, calculated variety, watch the gameplay video I posted yesterday: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/90598780/0/0 I get an Unbroken, and you can see what times I snipe, what times I stay back, and what lines I cover for my team.

If you get something with field scout you usually can snipe the entire game without really worrying much about picking up ammo
