Should VOG Weapons and Gear have the ability to be upgraded like the exotics?
I'm pretty disappointed that all of the VOG raid gear and weapons are now inferior to equipment sold by the vanguard, crucible, and faction vendors. I'm proposing that the weapons and gear have the option to be upgraded like the exotics. This wouldn't require any sort of new system or mechanism. It's such a strange design choice to render all of the top level legendary gear/equipment (as of 2 weeks ago) obsolete 3 months after a game's launch. I've grown especially fond of my raid weapons and would like them to continue to be effective as the level cap grows. Weigh in and let's see how the community feels.
To those who will inevitably post how other MMO's leave old equipment in the dust after an expansion, 1) this isn't an expansion as it hasn't added anything to the world-it's paid DLC, 2) the game is 3 months old; that's a very brisk turn around.

1 ReplyCondescension aside ill give you my proper opinion, i was going to give it to you at first but do you know how many babies have been crying about this since they found out they were staying at 300. Every second post on the forums is someone moaning about this. The made the raid weapons specific for one raid. As in your fatebringer was made for VOG. It wasnt made so in five years youll still be using, thats not what they want. And you going to have to get over the fact that your never going to change their mind on this. They want people to experience different guns, find new ones and rank them up, rinse and repeat. They dont want you to have the same gun you got the first month you were playing. So either curl into a ball and cry about it or shut up and move on. The post are so irrelevant and annoying.

legends have legendary guns. Bungie want us to become legends. Think jaren ward and his TLW dregon yor with the thorn at his side Phannian eratt and his SGA Toland making the bad juju. Y cant i take a gun i love with me to be a legend

1 ReplyNo. You have to learn in life that you have to sometimes let things go. You have to let them be free. I know it may be hard, but you will find something else and you will forget all about the VOG weapons. Itll be ok guardian... Just have faith and let it go.

1 ReplyI don't care so much about the legendary weapons. But the exotics and raid armour? Yes. Or actually, if it's a raid specific legendary, yes.

This way it would be more costly, and you would have to put lots of time into upgrading it. However, if you had it fully levelled before the dlc having to level them it wouldn't be a problem! This would add to discourage those who opt to do the Vault Of Glass for Crota's End level gear, but not punish those who used their VOG raid gear before the dlc., except for the coins/motes of course.
