I got suspended for having a confederate flag on my truck.....
I still don't understand why people think the flag is racist, it represents southern heritage. The school might as well become a dictatorship. Should I sue?

12 RepliesI'm pretty sure that suspending you is a violation on your freedom of speech. The flag itself is not racist, nor are you. The people who originally used it were racist, yes, but now it does no harm to anyone now. Tl;Dr: Yes, you should sue for violation of your rights.

I'm black and I think it's ridiculous that you got suspended over that. But I don't think it's worth your time to sue. Although I'm sure there are some people who actually are racist and try to send a message with the confederate flag, I believe that most people that sport the confederate flag mean nothing bad from it.

10 RepliesYes you should. What state? I know in TN they can't take any action against you for anything rebel flag related short of waving one while making a hate speach. I used to keep a newspaper article with me at school, in the article it announced a new law prohibiting discrimination against confederate flags in TN public schools. Every shirt i have that isn't a chevy shirt is a rebel flag shirt. And the one tattoo i have i a confederate chevy bowtie.

19 RepliesEdited by LatchedRacer90: 11/18/2014 12:10:56 AMironic really but proof that the school system is liberal and closed minded the confederate flag is the battle flag of Virginia and is still used in many southern states' flags if a REAL school taught REAL history they would know what it means and represents but nooooo the liberals see a flag that means "freedom and anti government intervention" and they get scared and claim it is racist to get more people on their side they are probably the same people that claim they are "freed slaves" and that Lincoln freed the slaves because he thought slavery was wrong. Lincoln freed the slaves to push capitalism and industry into the south. Purely a business/political move.
