On the contrary, Bungie/Activision knew exactly how to use the player's immature loyalty to Bungie based on the Halo titles to sell Destiny. They KNEW that, in the player's mind, Bungie could do no wrong and that they would overhype Destiny to ridiculous levels all by themselves to turn a profit. Although I understand how you guys feel about Destiny, I can't help but chuckle every time I read about someone saying how they feel "betrayed" by Bungie.

  • So, let me get this straight: You feel that Bungie/Activision purposely manipulated their fanbase and audience to turn a profit, and you laugh every time someone voices that they feel manipulated.

  • A little, yeah. I get why they feel bad. And I agree with them to a certain extent about Destiny's flaws. But a lot of ppl forget that this is a business and, the first rule is to make money by any means. Do you believe a politician when he makes all those promises to get in office? Of course not, cause you know he is just telling you what you want to hear. It's the same with the video game industry. You should NEVER believe a developer when he is hyping up a game because he wants you to buy it. Wait for the reviews and then make an educated decision whether or not you should purchase it. Not to mention the fact that the word "ACTIVISION" should pull up a red flag in the back of your head. They have been doing these kinds of scumbag business tactics years before Destiny was even an idea. My point is this; high hopes usually ends up becoming high disappointments.
