Today I have come to a decision. After playing MANY hours and still yet to have an epic drop (poor me) and having had no weapon legs drop.... i struggled to stay with the game. I sit and read FOR HOURS, the forums and immediately i am filled with dread. "I shouldn't have bought this game. Oh it will get better. Oh i shouldn't farm. Oh well it's ok to farm. This. That. This. That." And i realized something.... I'M STILL PLAYING THIS GAME> Even though i have complained out loud and have gotten VERY frustrated with my apparent horrible luck with the RNG, i find myself addicted and stuck. I love this game. Truly. It's beautiful, fun, and most of all, CHALLENGING at times. I wish the social aspects were better, that gear was more profitable, fights were more entertaining, and that there was more to do.... BUT i realize that Destiny is the first of it's kind from Bungie. They are just as new to this as a football player trying professional diving. They have never attempted a game to this scale. And i assume they are listening and learning. I'm waiting. And i will wait patiently. For a few months. This may not be the only game i play.... but i will always come back to it. Are there things i wish could change? Oh -blam!- yes i do. But, i understand things take time. Patches aren't immediate, content doesn't just drop form the Gods of Greatness, straight into the lap of our dear game devs. These things take man power, time and more man power (or woman power!) I am happy to say, i still find myself filled with adrenaline during a close match of Control, or when i get that revenge kill in Rumble. I laugh like a madman when people flip their sparrows while trying to be cool. I enjoy running strikes over and over again JUST FOR THAT HOPE TO RECEIVE THAT SHADER! or legendary (kind of given up hoping XD) Do i enjoy watching the Nexus explode for the 30th time? Not really. But i do enjoy watching that spinning square at the end... The square that holds my drops in the palm of its equations! And to be honest, it works. People complain about the RNG, of which i have participated. (see above) but i understand that things aren't perfect. Take Diablo 3 for example. Wasn't it semi-recently that they doubled the Legendary Drop rates? hmmmm. And that BLIZZARD dear friends, a king within the MMO world. Just food for thought. As to the farming. Ah, the cave. I have a question, did you pay for the farmer's game? (and by farmer i do mean player, not a member of the agricultural community :) ) Let the damn kid or adult, play the way they want. It's their game. "But they are ruining the game, they exploiting the system, blah blah blah" One, what they do LITERALLY has no effect on you at all. Truly. Their gear isn't flooding an auction house... They aren't camping a quest giver or a mission objective. Hell, they are standing in one spot, shooting at a few mobs. WHO CARES? When you have an exotic drop after you kill that epic boss, you have PRIDE behind that item. They don't have the same story behind it. They shot a level five, for HOURS and happened to get lucky. Ill be honest, I have tried the farming tactic, whether it be the moon (crota) or the cave or a few others.... and after maybe 3 total hours of mindless droning, I had one leg drop. One. UNO! and it turned green... so... yeah. I did however, run patrols, and get coins and grabbed that sweet titan helm from Xur the bastard child of death. So im happy in a way. Anyway, my message to all the complainers, the kids, the adults, the players, and the die hards is GIVE IT TIME. I understand the pain. I understand the anger. But realize this is still new. And things will change. My plan: a month from now is my give up date. If , in a month, i find myself still feeling the same way i do now, then ill write the game off. Big whoop. Maybe ill get my girlfriend to play it so at least it's not collecting dust. And i'll move on to other games. This game has potential. We have to give it time to truly shine.
