For all those complaining about voice communication... Learn to use the mute button!
Stop trying to ruin the functionality of the game because you're too stupid or lazy to use the mute button.
We NEED voice comm in this game, without it there is literally no productive way to get to know people and make enough friends and be able to decipher if they are interested in the same aspects of the game that you are. A good example here, is raiding.
Forcing us to have to add every random person we play with.. to then send a typed messaged if they even accept.. or then to attempt to make a fire-team, followed by enabling voice comm within the fire team, to FINALLY be able to determine if they are looking to do what we are, is the most stupid, undeveloped, primitive, most anti-social way to be able to meet people in Destiny.

To Raid you HAVE to FireTeam. Therefore chat is automatic.

You clearly missed the entire point of my post... 1) Raids need a group of 6 already established friends. 2) If you don't have 5 real life friends to play destiny with every week.. You need to FIND these players. 3) The lack of voice comm (outside of already being in a raid.. Duhh..) forces us to add random people within the game while playing.. a long process to contact random players, send a friend request, have them accept, ask them if they ate interested in raiding for the next few hours, and hopefully get back a positive response.. to be able to determine who is even interested in raiding with you.. And any other players you have managed to randomly add,due to the lack of public voice comm, or any other means of public chat within the game. 4) The lack of voice comm also forces us to use 3rd party apps, like internet websites to find friends.. Which means less time on the game, when all you're trying to do is play the game. This is also not an ideal process as not everyone on these websites will be logged on and checking messages while trying to also lay the game. A lengthy process to gather up a group to finally be able to raid.

Really. Where does the game say you are not allowed to make a random FireTeam IN the tower? Where does it ban you from not having a FireTeam unless they are friends? R3, start, invite to fire team. If they don't have a headset move on. Why is it so hard?
