I will never, for the -blam!-ing life of me, understand why people cannot separate their religious beliefs from their political.
It makes no -blam!-ing sense.

Edited by Vgnut: 6/19/2014 3:55:20 AMI think it's impossible to separate religious belief, life in every facet really, from politics. Religion is inherently political. I'm not condoning these extremists on the American right or anything.
-
No, you can be moral without defining your morality by religious views.

Edited by b0t: 6/19/2014 9:57:42 PMExcept killing gay people isn't at all in line with Christian morality. The guy is an isolated nut.

That statement didn't tie into the topic directly. It was meant for the larger topic, if that makes sense.
-
Oh okay, I get it.
-
I agree. I don't think that changes what I said. Religion is inherently political. Even if we make our own morality there's still something political about it.
-
Maybe? It's not something I'm concerned with honestly. I just can't wrap my head around why so many people cannot separate the 2 of them.
-
It probably has to do with the whole "How I live is the right way to live and everyone should live how I live" mentality.
-
But how do so many people adapt that mentality?
-
Because nobody slaps them in the back of the head with alternate world views.
