I've kinda just lost the will to do anything. I just.. don't really care.

Sure. If I pass out on my face, just leave me be.

Want a* "Wanna" is slang for "want to", not "want a".
-
It's interchangeable :b
-
No it isn't.

Star Wars says so :b

If you're willing to get out of your comfort zone and try new things, you'll find what you love out in the world.
-
I do, but it never lasts. It's also that I really don't see a point to things, either.
-
For a long time I felt angry, alone, and fed up with life before and after I graduated from High School, until I rediscovered my love for art. With a pencil and paintbrush, I was able to vent my emotions into pieces comprised solely of my emotions. I don't know what your experiences have been like but whatever you love is out there, trust me.
-
Oh, I love making sculptures. But I don't have the space, tools, materials, or money to do it at home. And even when I finish them (usually costumes), I end up throwing them away because I don't have the room to keep them. Like, I.. borrowed to blocks of clay before I left college for the summer, but I don't have any way of firing it.
-
Have you tried showing your pieces at art sales? My college has student art sales, and people tend to show up if only to mingle about the work. Small events like those can establish connections to communities of artists.
-
Edited by Casper: 5/17/2014 10:46:02 PMI don't know if my college had those. Not did I really get to work on anything smallish. I only got to make three big things cuz I'm not good at staying small. Wait.... No pervy..

Edited by Warrior DM: 5/17/2014 11:07:27 PMI would say the most important thing is to put your work out for everyone to see, rather than keeping it cramped in some room. Some of the artists I have met are pretty introverted people, but they were able to go out of there way to display their stuff in galleries and small sales.

I wore my last project around campus for my Sculpture final. But now it's just sitting in my basement. I dunno. I like the actual process rather than the final thing. Except my marker. I love that thing.
-
I suppose it is different for each piece. With some paintings, I am more interested in the final product than the process behind them.
-
Painting is pretty fun. I mean, I'm only good at blending. But I think part of my problem is that I have a hard time coming up with something unique on my own. Like, I made a paper mache brute and infector that I absolutely love, but again, they're from Dead Space. Like, I'm good ay replicating, but if I have to make something completely my own, I'll hate it until it's perfect. And if I hate it, I won't dare show it to anyone else.
-
It's perfectly natural for your interests to be reflected in your work. Art is an extension of your imagination after. What you need to do is study what you like about other people's creations, and then put your own twist on it. It will take practice, but you will eventually find your own art style. Even if you deem your work imperfect, that just means you're human. I've seen photo realistic paintings and thought, "why isn't this person a photographer?"
-
Wait, so it's okay to develop off of other people? I always thought that was.. wrong, and that everything you make needs to come solely from you with no outside influence.
-
It's perfectly okay to have something that influences you, that's where all artists start. For example, I look at Jim Lee's work and study I what I like about his drawings. He has this style that shows a lot of detail when it comes to the human form and lighting, and I try to apply that to my characters. You see what works in the pieces of masters, and practice their techniques until you develop something of your own.
-
..... Oh my God... I get it.. That's why I make mutilated things..
-
Haha. I can't tell you how many times I've drawn something based on what I imagine it looks like, rather than taking the time to study the subject. Once I started, I felt like I really grew.
-
I find that the best thing for me is if I'm using something as a reference, try to only use what I can remember, and then fill in the blanks. Though that's probably why I'm so bad at anything little details, unless it's organic.
