Circumcision, what's the big deal?
So flood, i've seen quite a few people arguing over the issue of (male) circumcision on here over the years, and honestly i've never really understood why it's such a big deal. I've always seen it as "six of one, half dozen of the other", where both have minor differences and tradeoffs, but in the grand scheme of things they just look a little different and not much more than that. As far as infant circumcision goes, it's the parent's decision, and their responsibility to make medical decisions for their children until they're old enough to do so for themselves. and in this case, either way it's what the parents feel is best for the child (wether it be for health, religious, or other reasons).
So flood, what are your thoughts and opinions on this issue?

19 RepliesPeople bitch about how babies can't decide and ridiculous shit like that. It's not as if it makes much of a difference or has any negative effects at all. It just removes an unnecessary part of the body. If that's wrong, then it's also wrong to give a child a haircut without its consent.

I could care about the choice argument if castration or deaths caused by circumcision were high or pass barely measurable, but I can see where they're coming from. I for one simply believe the health benefits slightly outweigh the risks. Being one of those with a grotesquely mutilated penis, I couldn't care more about the little flap of skin missing from my junk. If I have kids, will I have them be circumcised? Probably. And then you have people who compare male circumcision to FGM. Making this comparison immediately tells me you're a man, and you're very, very dumb to even think the two are comparable.

5 RepliesIt's a medical procedure that had no negative effects on me. It has literally made life in the shower easier, not to mention I avoid shit like phimosis entirely. I don't understand why people make such a big deal about it. I don't know anyone, literally ANYONE, who has some deep emotional scarring from it. Quit whining about it, it's none of your business. It's physically impossible to remember it too.

It's an unnecessary operation to which the child has no choice in. If they want to be circumcised when they're older, sure, whatever. Being done for medical reasons is acceptable for obvious reasons.

13 RepliesI'm glad I was circumcised. Uncircumcised dicks are absolutely disgusting. The first time I saw one, I said, "What the hell is wrong with his dick? That's nasty." Most girls I've talked with this about say they prefer a circumcised penis because it looks better.

Like breast implants for preschool girls, as long as it didn't physically hurt the kid? Note: there are medical conditions that require the procedure, but other than that, it has no benefits. Also, there is no reason to circumcise your child except to cause them pain and trauma.

I had it done recently ( I'm 28) and I can say it's a lot better having had it done. Head jobs are so much more enjoyable cause my gf doesn't have a calamari ring in her mouth with my dick. Another bonus is having had it done I asked to the foreskin and it makes an excellent back up fan belt for me car =D
