Unmasked Characters
How do you feel about the characters being unmasked in Destiny? Since we were always stuck wondering what Master Chief's mysterious true identity was or how the Recruit from Halo 3:ODST was always portrayed as some mysterious hero. In my opinion i loved our character masked since you make up its story which in my opinion makes it more personal, feel like im playing someone elses personal life if i know who there exactly are. Do you like that your characters wont be a complete mystery anymore?

Now when he's outside the city I prefer the helmet on but inside the city or during a deep conversation keeping the helmet on makes me feel silly or that my character is afraid to show his face. With the Spartans it's understandable since they were trained as soldiers since childhood they use their armor like a security blanket, they don't feel safe without it even in the middle of a safe-zone. But I hope Bungie will compensate us for forcing some of us to take off the helmet by letting us customize the face and gives us plenty of options! (Scars, Implants, Eye patches, etc)

I agree with you on the halo being good that way. But this isn't another halo game, and plus since we are all going to be playing unique characters it wouldn't really matter because, nobody knew what master chief face looks like, but with everyone making there own master chief it wouldn't really matter because then it would be a bunch of titans and hunters and warlocks it wouldn't make anyone unique with their own special facial features.

1 ReplyAgreed, maybe the face is best left for social interactions in the City on Earth. Or maybe the real question is...when will we be able to scan our faces and heads so that our characters will be able to look exactly like us??

i think id like if there was a choice on wether i could take my mask off or not Maybe like a button or in the inventory. The thought of a hooded hunter with no mask is kinda badass, or a titan getting ready for battle and the last thing they put on is their helmet right before the fight.

1 Replyi'm okay with this as long as they have good facial customizations. I was able to make a reasonable facsimile of me and my wife in Mass Effect, for my male and female characters, so it was neat seeing them in the game when their faces were revealed.

If they don't let me see my face for cutscenes and stuff ill be mad. As said, it's supposed to be out own story, so I want to make my own character. That's why I like mass effect and skyrim.

Edited by General Nonsence: 6/25/2013 7:58:42 PMthere is a difference between halo and destiny at least in my mind, in halo you play as master chief while in destiny you don't play as anyone you are simply [purekrl]. it's a different style in that before you were telling someone else's story but this time you're making up your own as you go along. that said I probably wont be taking off my helmet.

It makes it more personal. Bungie has said that Destiny will be [i]your[/i] story after all.
