The Traveler image/logo Marathon reference?
I'm really surprised that I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but every time when I look at the Traveler image, all I can see is the Marathon logo. I've done some awesome photoshoping (about 9,000 hours) above to show you what I mean. I really don't see how it can be a coincidence, it looks to pretty evident to me it's a throwback to the Marathon logo.
Maybe Marathon and Destiny actually have some kind of connection.

2 RepliesI need to go brush up on my marathon lore. I hadn't even though about it, but the idea that Destiny could be a sequel to the marathon trilogy makes me feel funny in my special place.

Crossing my fingers for a scene like this: You're in a ship, looking out a round porthole at the Traveler. All of a sudden a beam of light begins to pour from the base of it and down into the City below. The framing of it is the exact same as the Marathon logo. Then something even crazier happens. Or something! Man, I'd nerd out.

of course bungie is going to have this that reind you of past games, this game has alot of there ideas going into and alot od it will have things that look like stuff from marathon and halo because it's a bungie game. not to say that the game is going to be a new halo or marathon. (BUNGIE SHOULD MAKE A NEW MARATHON!)

Yeah, people thought that alot about Halo. I think it's one of those things they leave up to the player to decide.
