Because the sexuality of someone is based by their hormones during the development in the fetus.
That's why they're born it.

The only thing that scientists have seemed to agree on is that it [i]may[/i] be a mixture of internal and external factors. At this time, to my knowledge, there is no difinitive answer one way or the other. The thing that i've always found interesting was how quick being gay turned from "gay and proud" to "it's not my fault". Personally, I don't think it's an issue of being born this/that way when it comes to your sexuality. With that said, I don't really think it's a concious decision either. I think, like most things, it's something that is heavily influenced as you develop through childhood. Again though, since nothing has really been proven it's all really just opinion at this point.

True, it's not proven what causes it. But we're well beyond the "it's a choice" stage that a few people still like to argue.

Yes and no, because there is still evidence of "choice" in some cases. I will agree though, in that I don't believe it's a matter of concious decision when it comes to who you're attracted to.
