No it isn't.
People these days have the attention spans of a common gold fish, and demand instant gratification for as near to zero effort as they can get.
Farming exotic class items, once the mission is done, is one of the easiest AND fastest farms this game hs ever given us.
And yet, like usual, it isn't *enough.*
If I were BungLe, I'd throttle the drop rate to about 0.3% and actually say it's because yes, people are pathetically whiny, so here's a lesson in ACTUAL grinding.

Sorry, not sorry, that will never happen. It's not about the grind, it's 100% about giving the grind an actual purpose, a goal, a destination and so for this developer has failed to do that. Go look at a real RPG and tell me how they do half the garage this developer does to hinder a gamer's progression. Setting up an "RNG" system to deliberately drop garbage stats more often than not, and this developer showning how easy it is for them to adjust the "RNG" in this game to push out duplicates more often than not as they have for the last 10 years. Explain how the grind is "so important" in this game other then to waste a gamer's time spent playing the game???
-
Easiest? Sure. Fastest? Definitely not. It is 1 exotic item per 20 minutes if done good, and there are 64 combinations. If there was dupe protection you would get all of them for 1 character in 21.33 hours. Thats a lot. But there isnt dupe protection so you might spend double that time to get the roll you want. All thats for 1 character out of 3
-
That’s how you’d kill a game. I already paid for the game, why make getting a decent item obnoxiously tedious and RNG based? I loathe that type of gameplay.
-
Your company would fail.
-
Its as if no one has played Borderlands before. Farming class items is nothig compared to 94 Sham farming or norfleet farming (especially on OP10) What has happened to gamers these days?
-
What has happened to gamers these days?
It's the age of instant gratification. If you can't get it NAOW it's not working. I blame poor parenting.
-
Edited by Rogue: 7/14/2024 4:34:45 PMSo who’s fault is it? The kids who were parented poorly? Or the parents that parented the parents who parent poorly? How far back do you want to kick this can up the street?
-
I can only see back as far as my own personal bias allows, and that's my own lifetime.
-
We grew up and learned about skinner boxes and how predatory developers prey on those vulnerable to addiction?
-
BS. I grinded so much to get all rolls and I got 55 out of 64 for my Hunter. You get so many double drops. And before you actually get one it will take at least half an hour. On Double Destiny it isn’t much faster. The issue is that they kinda force you into doing the same stuff over and over and over again. To get many ones you already have making it super frustrating. They really got to put in bad luck protection on this. There are 64 rolls on each character. So 192 different in total. 192 x 30 min each for me says that someone has put enough effort into it to get them with 96 hours of grinding.
-
Getting the same items from the loot pool isn't something I want in a loot based game and zero effort? Playing the game doesn't count as putting an effort?
If I were BungLe, I'd throttle the drop rate to about 0.3%
Means there's no need to play your game

A bit off topic but still relevant in this case, it's actually a long-perpetuated myth that goldfish have poor memory and scientific studies have shown that they can even be trained to a degree, such as remembering to push a blue button to get fed instead of a red button.

Just a useless tidbit of information I happen to have squirreled away in the back of my mind. 😂

Lol, always a good thing!

I've done maybe 50 solo overthrows. While doing overthrows I run all over the map opening 30+ chests or more. I get repeat after repeat. So don't tell me about little effort

But hey, maybe when reading comprehension becomes your friend you'll see how hilariously off-base your reply to me was. Have a good one.

Let me guess, you're a hunter main

I thought their reply was pretty apt, and I would’ve been far less cordial towards you.
-
Can spot a hunter main a mile away. Must be brave of you behind a screen to say such things

If Bungie only had a spine.
People these days have the attention spans of a common gold fish, and demand instant gratification for as near to zero effort as they can get.
Amen to that. These Streamers / Youtbers don't realize the consequences of overhyping things. Not sure who started the hype but whom ever it was must be the best sales man ever. Yea, people just saw their idol claiming this item to be the best thing to have ever been added to Destiny and if you don't have it, you might as well not play.
-
Oh yeah, definitely the streamers and YouTube. Not, you know, the company that specifically marketed the exotic class items to be a big deal. You even said you don’t know who started it, you’re just blaming the group of people you don’t like xD
-
Just because i don't know who spread it, that doesn't mean that i can't know that it was a Streamer or Youtuber. Because they are the ones to do so, always has and always will. I mean take a look at builds, who do you think makes those and tells people about it ? Bungie ? Also i saw the trailer and besides them spreading some miss information about how to can steal perks with it, i honestly saw nothing that would cause this chaos.
-
You didn’t see anything that would cause this chaos at all. By your own admission. But Bungie spent millions advertising their game, and you’re blaming innocent, normal people for hyping up destiny by just playing it on stream. Thank god people like you are taking care of the real issues.
