Bungie, you've definitely been listening. Listening so well that you're doing this -blam!- on purpose. The Fomo is strong with this one. If you didn't attempt Contest mode you are treated to the worst example of a Raid Exotic quest I've ever seen.
You need 20 instances of good fortune to get necrochasm, which is interesting and good. But not good enough for this bullshit.
And 35 for Outlaw...Outlaw...for all the tedious uninteresting boring desensitized WORK. Just let me make up a perk. It'll be funny, Hilarious, and not bungie approved.
Now I know what some of you bungie White knights will be saying. " It hasn't been a week yet."The gun would be too powerful."
"You can simply farm the raid as much as you want."
If you wanna anything even REMOTELY close to these things? You part of the problem. Period. Trust me when I say there are better options For far less work and the methods of obtaining them are more enjoyable.
This Exotic ain't it. It quest doesn't tell you anything about crota. It just tells you.
Kill this guy until you have enough arbitrary instances of nothing for something a little above average.

They either need to make it easier to get or substantially improve the weapon itself making it worth the longer grind. In its current state, the necrocasm is not a great reward for the time and effort required. It's just a cool add clear weapon with a handful of synergies, and it seems to be pretty decent in PVP too. However, Quicksilver Storm which was a season pass drop is substantially better in almost every single way... They need to give Necrocasm a way to be effective for more than just Red Bars like the alternate fire node of Quicksilver storm or even the Vex. This could be having the thrall explosion trigger on rapid precision hits or an alternate fire mode that essentially launches a thrall exploder. I'd really be open to anything that moves it out of being a "fun add clear weapon" only.

9 RepliesWhile I understand your sentiment, when I got Necro in D1 it took an embarrassing amount of runs to get it. I got so good as a sword bearer that I had no trouble finding my way into LFG groups. At least here, I can eventually get the gun. So far with KF I’m up to 89 runs with no Touch. I prefer a 💯 fool proof method of getting these exotics.

So true!

^ i Agree Bungie need to make it a guaranteed to drop from every encounter across all characters for looted clears, And they should also increase the drop rate for non loot clears and make it easier to farm cuz not everyone have the time to play 3 hours + of Destiny 2 everyday cuz of work and school and it’s stupid when you have to farm a heavily rng resource with abysmal drop rate to get what is supposed to be a guaranteed raid exotic weapon because that's what's Exotic weapon quests are for.
-
I did the raid for the first time yesterday, and got 4 drops of this essence stuff… 3 from encounters and 1 from a triumph. Everyone on the fireteam was laughing and saying “that’s the best rng you will ever get on them, now the bs no drops will begin…”
-
More Bungie BS to keep ppl on the hamster wheel. They’ll announce in a month or so that there’s an unintentional bug making the drop rate lower than intended. Don’t worry about it, get it later.
-
I agree the drop rate is 💩 the only way bungie may increase the drop rate per encounter completion is by people keeping posting it etc I think that’s all we can do keep going on about it and hopefully bungie will increase drop rate.

14 RepliesEdited by Jvp WReNCh: 9/9/2023 4:28:10 PMEdit: just checked, & there are nine triumphs that can be completed right now for oversoul essence. That means worst case scenario is 11 weeks to get necrochasm if the hard mode isn't released before then.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 9/9/2023 2:37:16 PMCan’t say I’m surprised it’s like this. The inconsistency of RNG from one activity to the next in this game has become beyond frustrating. It feels like intentionally trollish RNG or intentionally exploitative RNG in some areas. I just don’t like feeling like my time and effort are respected consistently throughout the game. Add another one to the list with this.

14 RepliesEdited by Griever: 9/9/2023 11:14:59 PMThey didn't think this through. They have a habit of poorly wording things, but if we really are only guaranteed 1 per first weekly completion and the other 1 I've gotten on both first runs were just dumb luck, triumphs/ farming aside, there's nothing in the game worth 20 weeks and another 15 for a redundant upgrade we only get half the benefit from. If this is their way of saying "we don't want players going X completions with nothing to show for it", there are MUCH better options than spending over 2 whole seasons for a weapon and its catalyst. • Even 1 guaranteed drop per character with every additional drop that week on that character being 50% lower than that is good. • Let us buy a limited amount of Essence per week using Spoils. • Let us buy Necro with 240 Spoils. That's the equivalent of like 12 raids anyway, time gating aside, the grind would be no different. Even Not Forgotten and Recluse in their prime weren't worth a grind like this, why does a reprised AR reworked into a mix between Redrix and Sunshot have it?

These bungie haters are funny. This weapon is not even good and yall are loosing your minds over not having it.....take your fomo meds.

1 ReplyShut Up and get on that 🐹 🎡 so, it looks like people are staying and enjoying their time playing a 9 year old raid that we meme'd on and still are! How else they gonna make you do it over and over again! 🤣😂

Edited by DuplexGorilla53: 9/9/2023 1:45:09 PMYes but those white knights are the addicted they listen to. They just said not long ago they are going to design the crucible around those who play it 20 hours a week..... How will those changes impact people who don't play video games as a part time job? You know what they don't care. Those players are all they really need to keep the lights on and they are not hard to keep walking through the door.

1 ReplyThey really turn this game into a job that’ depends way too much on bad RNG.

If you wanna anything even REMOTELY close to these things? You part of the problem. Period.
Ah yes, the ol’ “you don’t agree with me? Then you’re the problem” sentiment (guessing you missed a few words somewhere in the there). This system is ultimately better. Could the drop rates increase? Sure, why not. But the core of it is better. Yes, you can farm it unlike other new raids (guess I’m part of the problem now for saying that). Because of this, people willing to put the time in can get it as soon as they want (if drops rates were decent). Triumphs also give Essence, meaning that people willing to put forth the extra effort will increase their progress. It also means you will most likely have the exotic by the time you complete the seal, which is how it should be. You also get 1 guaranteed per completion per week, meaning you are guaranteed the exotic at some point in time. People will no longer have 50+ runs with no exotic. Essence dropping from all encounters also means that you are encouraged to do full runs and not just Crota checkpoints, which to me is an improvement. The quest system overall makes it beneficial to people who actually put time into the raid. But if you just run 1 boss cp a week, you won’t be able to just get lucky first time after running ad clear with 50k dps. Like I said, the drop rates could be higher. But if you’re complaining about the SYSTEM, you just want a handout.

4 RepliesThis game is so empty you’re just running an empty hamster wheel of a content that’s recycled from almost 9 years ago to get a loot that’s also recycled almost 9 years ago. Bwahahahahahaha!!! That’s laughable! Empty hamster wheel game! Bwahahahahahaha!!! Welcome to hollowness!

1 ReplyI totally did it on contest mode, yep
. Trust me when I say there are better options For far less work and the methods of obtaining them are more enjoyable.
Then why are you complaining about not being able to get necrochasom
-
1 Reply
there are better options For far less work and the methods of obtaining them are more enjoyable.
So go do them and use said weapons instead of doing things you don't like doing for a weapon you don't like...

I’ve played since D1 and didn’t actually start having fun with this game until Forsaken, that’s when I stopped doing raids and started to not give a crap about having every weapon in the game.

4 RepliesI got 9 this week.

9 RepliesPersonally, if your a warlock it’s worth the chase, can’t speak on the other 2 tho.

U don’t have to get it. There’s plenty of exotics I just don’t feel like grinding for. Doesn’t mean I’m made they are in the game. Grind for what you’re ant and leave the rest :)
-
Okay? So don’t craft the catalyst?
