Essence of the Oversoul drop rate
Essence Of the Oversoul needs a drop rate increase considering you need 20 for the Necrochasm and your not really getting any of them to drop please Bungie buff the drop rate

22 RepliesHonestly, boo hoo. Should have just done contest crota for the garenteed drop. I got it done with an lfg team, and it took about 30 hours. God I'm so done with people needing instant gratification constantly.

Ran complete raid last night. Only 1 person got 2 Essence of the Oversoul. Everyone else got nothing. I was expecting at least 1.

Edited by Dredgen Winnower: 9/8/2023 2:33:28 PMI agree they need to make it a guaranteed to drop from every encounter across all characters for looted clears, And they should also increase the drop rate for non loot clears and make it easier to farm cuz not everyone have the time to play 3 hours + of Destiny 2 everyday cuz of work and school and it’s stupid when you have to farm a heavily rng resource with abysmal drop rate to get what is supposed to be a guaranteed raid exotic weapon because that's what's Exotic weapon quests are for.

This is why Bungie can never make the community happy. Yes, we want raid exotic quests, but when the quest involves the same kind of RNG that makes farming the exotics "the old way" so bad, it's not really making it any better.

I’m not sure how I feel about it. It seems like a form of bad luck protection while implementing both random loot and a quest. It should be guaranteed on a looted Crota kill and RNG after that. The way it’s looking it could take upwards of 50-100 encounters and that’s worse than straight RNG. I’ve seen people not get a single essence after 10 clears. I’d much rather prefer if RNG is involved it’s not that many clears or it has bad luck protection. My worst was 50 or 60 for EOT and 1KV. 20-30 looted clears is acceptable for an exotic.

Took me 25 RoN clears which is 8.3 weeks for the shotgun despite having a clear on day 1. The rocket launcher from deep stone took me 20+ clears, 7 weeks for that to drop despite doing it within 24 of launch- day 1. I didnt cry whine or come to the forums once asking for hand outs. I grinded it out… and I’m what your kind would call a ‘pvp player’. Beat Crota on contest and got my Necro as well as the catalyst. Working on it now, it requires materials. Am I asking for bungie for hand outs? No. The path to Necro is perfect. If you want it fast then you arent capped at 3 chances per week, go grind. Or dont and get them over time. Or go do the challenges, they give essence. Oh wait that isnt free and instant and requires time. Oh no. This community just wants everything spoon fed. Bungie give an inch and you want a mile. Its unreal. If you wanted it fast then you shoulda beat contest within 48 hours. If you want it now then grind. If you dont wana grind then dont. Bungie made it like this as its better than being capped to 3 chances per week. I simply laugh at these type of posts ‘bungie make it easier’. So embarrassing, just play the game its not hard. You want instant guns buy cod, its a damn raid weapon thats farmable 247.

1 ReplyThey want you to run the raid a lot and do the triumphs. This is how they are getting you to do that. It's their game, not yours. The reasons they are doing it are entirely business related. By the way, these forums are just an avenue to get genuine feedback about broken parts of the game. They are not about listening to what you wish they would do. It's not broken, they're not going to fix it. Please try and understand this concept.
