Edit: I'm sorry for the long post, I just wanted to get this off my chest. I agree with 99% of this, but I wouldn't say Gambit and PvP are respectively a 3rd of the game. There are 3 game modes yes, but the vast majority of content made is only for one of them: PvE, and the AI and development choices for it are very questionable at best. I'd say PvE is at least 75%, PvP is 20%, and Gambit is 5% (just based on the way the game is currently being developed) But it used to be much more evenly split. I think PvE should be around 50% (66% if Gambit was removed), but it shouldn't be as high is it currently is right now. The problem is they are trying to not overdeliver on purpose while charging a staggeringly higher price than before, on top of trying to make you buy all the cool stuff, and they are making everything else look bad and poorly made in the process. Seasons as a whole are a bad design choice for PvE in a game like Destiny, but PvP could be fantastic if they made the seasons for that instead of making Marathon. I think Destiny should go back to the way it was: buy to play, with a new, long and interesting story only for expansion releases, a few new strikes that relate to the aftermaths of the story with maybe one in-between missions, a new patrol zone with one or two small secrets, a new raid with a randomly dropped exotic along with an exotic quest tied to the story of the raid, and a secret exotic mission like they used to. Rise of Iron was a panic expansion but is still leagues above where Lightfall is currently in terms of fun and replayability. Why? Because everything could be obtained in-game with a single buyout price of just paying for the expansion, and wasn't nearly as buggy and broken. Every annual launch so far has been at least 2x more expensive, and has had so many issue that I honestly do not believe some are accidents anymore.

You either evolve w the game or move on. That's it. The game isn't tailored specifically to any one of us. If you don't like where it is or where it's heading put the game down for a bit. Or if you're really fed up delete the game & characters and leave all destiny groups. Or you stay & continue to be unhappy playing the game constantly complaining about a game you want but you will never get. The game isn't tailored to any of us specifically. This season was boring for me, it's probably the least amount of played since season of the worthy (only hit rank 100 that season) People need to start showing bungie by spending their time & money elsewhere. But yall can't be saying this type of 💩 but continue to play the game. If people want bungie to really get the message people need to log out & not log back in. Stop saying how unhappy you are, yet CONTINUE TO PLAY THE GAME. Hopefully bungie over delivers in the final shape & we see a massive improvement from what's taken place during this expansion.

This season is the least amount of time I've spent playing Destiny, and I'm loving it. I log on here and there, play for an hour or two at most, and then launch another game. It's refreshing. I'm not going to buy anymore seasons either, it's like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I highly recommend y'all do the same.

I do think he has a point about how all live service games have been able to learn from how Bungie has successfully run destiny despite some of the obstacles they've encountered. As far as defending it it's mostly because everybody will hopefully benefit from the microtransaction microtransgressions. They were just so small and optional and all these wonderful things have have or are going to come to fruition. Now... Will you join me in thanking and praising the Duchy of Eververse?

Why do people whine?

Even though Bungie’s company doesn’t publicly trade, the fact that we pay for a yearly subscription via expansions for a product that’s designed for longevity and investment via our characters kinda makes all of us guardians shareholders lol. As such, we want the game to do well so we can play more. But obviously, we’ve grown disgruntled with the fact that Bungie doesn’t seem to care anymore. We don’t want to hate on the game and the company, but we have to if it means getting proper feedback through to them and fix the game that we want to play. Otherwise, just move on.

I can't agree more with your words Sunslinger, the game has been over for a long, long, long time. The fanaticism of the people is disconcerting, every season is the same, and the worst thing is that they include content from 8 years ago, and they think we are fools. You are a shame for the community.

I am reminded of all the Bungie apologists with their "Get out Activision" nonsense at the time. Some knew the problem was deeper than that and wouldn't be fixed by a split from Activision. Proof is in the pudding.
