I’m curious to know what everyone else thinks about trials currently. Leave your thoughts below

What I said when the "new" version of Trials dropped. That it was a step in the right direction, but didn't go far enough. So it sounds like the problems that have always plagued Trials (skill creep) are rearing their head again. The problem is that the entire design of Trials is about letting very good players exploit weaker players for fun-and-prizes....then expecting those weaker players to dutifully show up every week to get their teeth kicked in. The problem is that for most of Trials existence, Bungie drank their own Kool-aid (Trials is for the best of the best) and gave average players NOTHING but that kick in the teeth. So they stopped showing up to play....and the playlist quickly imploded from runaway skill creep. Plus cheating and other underhanded tactics to extract rewards from the playlist. With the latest overhaul, Bungie included a very weak form of SBMM....and a reward structure that does allow average players a chance to grind their way to rewards as long as they are willing to endure a less-humiliating form of getting curbstomped. By basically bribing these players, they are willing to hang in there until they get the rewards they want....then they leave again. Because they are still getting curb-stomped. ...and in my case, a new set of armor and two lackluster weapons (a sidearm and a fusion rifle) are just not worth the hassle of enduring a PvP experience that just isn't enjoyable. That's what Bungie either hasn't realized....or just won't accept. If you have to BRIBE people to play a PVP experience, you're not going to keep people IN that experience. Once they have the rewards, they are left with a play experience that isn't enjoyable. Isn't rewarding on its own...so they're goign to stop playing.

Bad loot and 0 replayability

is ok, but when in the rotation is a old gun bad yeah , bungie should just go full casual ,remove the loss for the lighthouse , make it 9 win, and remove a win when you lose

1 ReplyNot good. I can go on and on about the numerous issues plaguing it but the rewards are always a big part of it. A lot of the best rewards—Messenger, Igneous Hammer, Shayura’s— are no longer available. That leaves us with weapons like Reed’s Regret being one of the most desirable weapons left in the loot table, but why would you want it when you can get something better like Stormchaser in an activity that’s less of a headache?

1 ReplyNot fun or rewarding 9 out of 10 times so I tend not to play
-
Too much effort and time investment for a reward that you'll dismantle 98% of the time.
-
2 RepliesTo much effort for something you’ll more than likely dismantle, at this point trials has 0 good rewards. Zone control still sucks because of overshields and healing, mementos should be given just by playing trials

1 ReplyThe #1 thing Trials needs is to be more rewarding. Matchmaking needs to be completely freaking random like it has twice. The 1st week of the revamp and the 1st week of this season and the numbers were record breaking 1. No Flawless Pool. 2. Freelance is available once a month. 3. You can still play as a solo or duo if you want. 4. Bungie needs to bring back all the guns they’ve taken out and they need to make a weapon of every F’ing archetype for rewards. Maybe each week could offer 2 different weapons and you choose which one when you go flawless or it gives both, idc. 5. Increased reputation and you get it for wins and losses. 6. Matches won have 50% chance to drop a random non adept weapon or armor, but matches lost have a 25% The lighthouse is available to everyone that can manage to go flawless. Do you think all the good players just jumped on and was already good? Absolutely not. I have 4500+ hours in PvP and that’s why I’m good. I put the effort in to getting better because I wanted to be good at Destiny, I wanted to be able to go flawless, and etc. You don’t see us PvP players asking For GM’s to be easier. I’d like a Silicon Neuroma, but I don’t feel like getting my light up and all that. So I don’t deserve one.

Needs sbmm….

OK as is. Only needs for those who walk into Trials and expecting Bungie to hold their hand and provide a easy win to shut up complaining when their butt gets shot off.

Remove the flawless pool!
