Do you hate Iron Banner?
Please vote.
There is alot of trending Iron Banner topics but that doesn't show how many people actually enjoy it. It would be nice to get a solid comparison.

2 RepliesNo fun - get matched with stacks of what seem like pros, never alive for more than 5 seconds at a time - rocket death, super death, super death again same guy - flip spawn farmed, head shot lorentz, head shot tarantula - rocket death again. Shaxx trash talks - thanks bungie. Just easier to put the controller down and walk away. If this is match making based on skill - i think bungie has lost touch with reality or they need to hire people who know how to code requirements. The slap in the face is a sorry pinnacle that i don't need. All this leads me to believe they don't play or experience the game as a regular user - one match of banner as i experience it and they would probably all resign from their game design positions at bungie and become monks.

I hate rift, played some matches, but I won't play anymore, if wanna play a game like that I'll play an NBA game. Iron banner doesn't need objectives, it need guardians to show there strength, unless the old iron lords were actually a basketball team and not warriors at all. Make it clash, only kills get points.

It's like playing trail of Osiris but instead of three hardcore players it's five or six of them steam rolling you and making you feel like Mufasa from the lion king. Getting killed out of nowhere every five or ten seconds is one thing, I could honestly care less if my team and I win or lose since the reward is literally the same fusion rifle every time, but when I try to pick up the spark to complete a seal someone else got it or I get gunned down out of nowhere. Even if I did get a hold of it I only have it for a second or two before I get gunned down either way. And DON'T get me started on that glitch where the spark vanished out of existence from the match and not returning! I still don't understand why they changed the mode for iorn banner in the first place. Maybe they wanted to change things up I'm not sure really, but seeing this page nobody, or at least half of the community hates Rift in iorn Banner, including myself. So yeah I believe that bungie needs to change it back to control.

No, I love Iron Rift, if next season they change it back to boring control with the same lopsided matches, I will probably skip it -
I don't like the way the points are rewarded. It is a team effort to get the spark dunked, but only the player who dunks it is rewarded points. Also reward points on a win.

After two games where I managed to add a whole 1% of Orewings Spirit I logged off and have been playing Witcher 3 for the 5th time. They had it so right in D1. Iron Banner around the time of Rise of Iron was perfect. This? This is shyt.(D2 in general is unplayable outside of the campaign)

I like variety in the game and mixing IB up a bit, but Bungie did it very poorly here. Rift isn’t the worst game mode in a vacuum. Here’s what I think makes it not fun: -Terrible sense of team balancing. So many games I play end in a meet or getting mercied. I can’t count how many “we’re breaking up these teams” messages I’ve seen -Poor map variety. Rift could have been played on more maps. Only having three maps becomes very monotonous -No game mode rotation. Maybe a stretch, but having IB rotate between rift and control would’ve allowed people who hate rift to have a break from needing to play it for the seal. Keep revives and longer respawn times to keep it interesting. Could either rotate daily or each time IB comes to town -Lack of objective focused gameplay within teams. I’ve played against and been on teams where some are focused only on getting kills or going in with a solo mindset. Getting the spark to the other side requires teamwork and isn’t effective when teammates don’t help the runner. -Bad progression systems towards title. Orewing’s Spirit was an absolute crawl to complete. Not to mention, players who haven’t done IB in previous seasons are unable to complete the title even if they grind this season (Orimund’s Tale) -Sparse new rewards. Besides the few new weapons, this seasons IB didn’t add any new armor pieces or ornaments. For a season trying to hype up IB with a whole new seal, there aren’t many enticing rewards to earn. Feel free to add to the list or comment what you think of it 🙌

Tbh I wouldn’t even have a problem with rift if match making wasn’t so FUBAR. I either get matched up against the most sweaty disgusting career crucible players, or players who’ve never touched a PvP game in their lives. Theres no in between and its beyond Unfun. If I didnt want the Title, I wouldnt touch it. Not to mention the lack of new weapons and gear. Its so underwhelming.

5 RepliesThe person that came up with these changes to Iron banner, should be fired from the sandbox team affective immediately. The same boring mode over and over again its just bad rift in D1 was ok as we had the maps to support the mode. but this so called iteration of the mode 1.5/10 at best

I already didnt like IB cuz of the power difference and shorter points (bc i try to kill as much as i can lol) but now its just unplayable for me. Rift is horrible and repetitive

1 ReplyIt is the same story with control if you are going against same kind of stacked team. At least objective based game modes are more fun because its not about KILL KILL KILL only. But majority of the people in pvp lack brain cells to comprehend the objective of the game or the ability to enjoy something despite losing. Ya know its pretty easy to disregard couple of bad matches. You wont win em all and you will lose some by a huge margin. I understand getting frustated over brainless teammates making dumb plays like running with spark directly into the enemy team without waiting for teammates. Ya know free spark delivery type of thing. Thats just the general rule of how Destiny has been since D1. Not pointing fingers and saying someone is bad at the game but i cannot dismiss the fact that i've seen some people who are just downright bad but at the end of the day "It is what it is" - some random dude

Time between transmat, I waited over 4 minutes between a score, with my entire team and I being sent back to orbit and this is in freelance. Objectives take forever to accumulate. Streaks being resett when I go to Tower just to clear out my Postmaster. The whole PvP game mode is garbage at the current state. Bungie needs to correct these issues come next season.

I don’t like the terrible map selection or the fact that only one game mode is present for an entire season. Since we only get 2 make one rift (on different maps) and one zone control. But I don’t want it to go back.

1 ReplyRift is a perfectly fine gamemode for people that actually want to play Rift. Rift is [b]not[/b] a good gamemode for single-queue modes (i.e. to make Iron Banner or Trials). It requires everyone on the team to play for the team, not for themselves. Not to be off farming Bounties, or AFK to get their Pinnacles then ignore.

Pvp has been getting steadily worse. The blatant cheaters and odd connections make it nigh unplayeable

I used to love the Iron Banner, especially back in Forsaken. Oh my,.. those were the days… just think how many maps we had. Yeah. I could spent the whole week running with the wolves. Now, I just want this week to end asap.

Don’t hate it, just would prefer more rotation rather than Rift all season… that being said, anyone that played D1 has already been through this… so unless you’re 12-16 years old this isn’t new.
