so, what happens to the city now? Zavala is in charge of everything, yes, but i dont think he alone can administrate the entire city, yknow, as a ruler would. it still needs whatever was the "consensus" and also the Speaker. if im losing something its because i didnt buy Splicer and Lost

1 ReplyThe consensus contained the Speaker as the leader, Titan, Hunter, and Warlock Vanguard to represent their classes. Future War Cult, Dead Orbit, and New Monarchy where also included as the major political groups in the city. I might be missing some but you could just destinypedia. FWC, DO, and NM all left the city or were disbanded. Speakers dead, and the role of Hunter Vanguard is empty, so really it's just Zavala and Ikora left in charge. However, the Vanguard focuses on the military, the other political groups focused on other aspects, so it seems kind of strange that everything is functioning so well.

Splicer=Fallen Alliance/Vanguard Takeover Lost=Awoken nonsense(I'f I ever hear the word "Leyline" again I will cry) The huge issue of the vacuum left by the exile of the factions has never been addressed, people need medical care, water, food, power, protection/law enforcement etc, but our feelings is a more important issue to cover Everyone would love a season in the last city, we know more about Cabal dining practices than we do about our own people -
1 ReplyThe concensus didn't really do much as they spent most of the time arguing and demanding their faction gets more of the cities resources. Just like all politics. Even with the concensus, Zavala, ikora, and Cadye were basically relied on to make all decisions.

1 ReplyVariks for Speaker 2022

1 ReplyPretty sure Ikora deals with most stuff that takes place in the city while Zavala is in charge of everything regarding our constant war.

Speaker evil Kill him ded

1 ReplyI just assumed the last city would be under some sort martial law until the last city was no longer in threat of a second collapse.
-
If I remember right zavala deals with external threats to the city and ikora deals with threats from within. This is why she was the contact in season of splicer. Idk how it's governed these days, the factions are gone and the speaker is dead so the vanguard is really the only part of the consensus left that I know of

4 RepliesWe have yet to even step foot in the actual City itself. I'd love to see the weapon foundaries and skyscrapers, and ships flying around, etc.

4 RepliesRight now its a benevolent military dictatorship. The nonsense with the Factions basically led to the collapse of the consensus. Future War Cult was discredited. New Orbit took the opportunity to get out of the Solar System, and took the remants of FWC with them. I think that the Vanguard will eventually try to rebuild the consensus, because they are too busy fighting to be bothered with managing the City. But by the same token, right now there is little need for civilian leadership since the City has basically been on a continuous war footing since the Red War.

4 RepliesEhy Guardian. Basically, after the events of the Endless Night (Season of the Splicer), the Future War Cult was disbanded and the Dead Orbit with the New Monarchy fled away leaving the Last City. This put an end to the Era of Factions. At the moment the Vanguard has the complete control of the Last City government, but it's not just Zavala himself to control everything like a ruler or a dictator. I may be wrong, but at the moment I don't recall any recent piece of lore that describes political bodies or similar taking decisions about the Last City like in old lore entries.
