Who is the witness and how powerful is he?

He's the second most powerful entity in the universe after he witnessed Chuck Norris

Based off of what knowledge we have, the Witness is the one that brought about humanity's Collapse (or at least oversaw it) and is the one who commands the Black Fleet. He is also the puppet master who ultimately led to the Hive's creation. As for how powerful, it's unknown, but it's implied that he's stronger than anything else we've faced so far.

2 RepliesI suppose it acts as the brain of the fleet. It makes the unveiling lore book a lot clearer, for the light and darkness are not entities but instead tools. The Winnower in that lore book is The Witness, which also means The Traveler is not just an orb but there is something else inside. Perhaps it looks the same as the Witness. But thats just speculation, really we know nothing about the Witness but that it has been hunting the traveler, the whole light vs dark war is The Witness vs the Traveler. With the raid lore Rhulk talks about the Witness like it is a philosophical being that understands true concepts of the universe which it must if it is this Winnower. Hopefully in Lightfall, we learn more about it AND the Traveler.
