In order to unlink an account, you must be able to authenticate it, which means you must be able to log into it. Bungie cannot forcibly de-link it. I would suggest contacting the platform concerning recovering the platform account. If you are unable to gain access to your account, then you will not be able to unlink it from your current Bungie.net profile.

 • So no moving forward? I appreciate the quick replies. It's very frustrating, especially after how much money I've dumped into Bungie since D1. Seems like such a poor system; so easily locking players out of accessing the game on other platforms. Oh well. I was going to buy the DLCs for myself and my son to start playing on PC and Xbox. Lost $$ for Bungie I guess.

 • Out of curiosity, why did you delete your Steam ID with the knowledge that you used it for your Cross-Save? It's not easy to get locked out of accessing the game on other platforms, as you seem to think it is; you had to take extremely specific steps to end up in this situation.

 • It was years ago and I wasn't really using it. I jumped on Cross Save when it came out as the new thing, but I wasn't really playing on PC at that time. Destiny wasn't a consideration when I deleted the Steam account, as I was solely playing on Xbox at the time. I forgot it was Cross Saved until I started getting into PC recently and found out I couldn't unlink the old account. Bungie's account linking system is unforeseeably extremely restrictive and needlessly so. I should be able to unlink old accounts from my Bungie.net account. I can prove the Steam account is non-existent and I'm not trying to dupe Bungie. Not sure why they can't forcibly deactivate an account Cross Save and allow the user to unlink an the unauthenticatable account(s). They could even do the same 90-day penalty period for Cross Save reactivation. I know I'm not the only one dealing with these issues. They've been in the forums since I started trying to fix my issue. For how much Bungie monetizes Destiny, it doesn't make sense they would develop a Cross Save that permanently locks players out from other platforms and ends any additional money those players would spend on DLCs. But, it is Bungie... I'll just continue playing on Xbox and not buy any of the DLCs on PC.
