How long have warlocks lamented the uselessness of the rift? It's slow to cast and there's next to no safe spot for it ever. You can't out heal any type of damage. The empowerment buff is laughable at best but by all means let titan barricades insta shred you and give them other stat boosts on top of the reload speed. I'm not even going to get into the shit show of the subclass changes. Just hurry up and delete the warlock class and be done with it already.

15 RepliesEmpowerment rifts give you a 30% damage buff which with bows, high impact snipers, and previously with 120s you could 2 tap. I think 120s still do 2 tap in an empowerment rift. Healing rift has utility for KEEPING YOU ALIVE IN A GUNFIGHT, not outright letting you win it just because you are sitting there. I've lost gunfights to warlocks camping in rifts more than I care to admit it. You really gonna argue uselessness when rally barricade was quite literally the worst class ability in the game? The stats it gives are going to be very useful now, but theres a reason people don't use it lol. With all the jumping gun fights that happen in this game, rally barricades have no value. Any slight height advantage means you can shoot their head. Any aoe could penetrate the shield and kill you. Acting like rift needed a buff more than rally barricades is a joke.

4 Repliesrift didn't need a buff, don't know what you're on. Plus rift is about to inherently become a lot more powerful because of the rally barricade. Teams are going to start stacking the two on top of each other and holding lanes.
-
As a former titan main I think empowering rifts are great , bordering on broken. Free damage 20% bonus for the whole team you can poop out every 30 seconds? Cool! It’s like two stacks of rampage for free on any weapon, (and it stack with rampage!)
-
As a warlock main since D1 beta, I disagree. My team, when we have the drive to actually play, runs 2 locks and a titan. The two of us use different rifts, both have the assemblers. Stack wells, magic happens, and our titan is double buffed on top of his own buffs. You're stupid if you just willy nilly dump rifts wherever. You have to actually think. Play solo? That's a you issue then, but pulling agro for a quick team heal spot isn't hard... Mass stacking buffs on top of empowering works wonders, especially on damage stacking weapons. So really, sounds like salty warlock not getting to do his strat in pvp... Ps, using "oh I have been warlock 7 years so I know the class" is crap seeing it changed significantly over the course of D1 and to D2... so technically you have around 3 years.

1 ReplyTell you wut. Ill trade you my shitty barracade for rift
-
9 RepliesI would argue its the best class ability of the three.
-
2 RepliesI think you are a bit to angry for the wrong reason. This will effect the first week at best, maybe low tier player longer. But this is "launch barricade and be head shot the strat". I've been a titan for a long time, and what you are echoing with the rift is comparably as bad or worse for rally barricade. I'm sure in low content pve you will hear how this is top tier. In crucible it will just be titan pops barricade in lane and proceeds to still get out sniped anyways. And listen I 100% agree the rifts need buffed no argument, but you shouldn't be mad at their buff to rally barricade. The majority of us are not CammieCakes making everything seem awesomely viable and s tier. Most of this will result in titans being more stationary which makes 0 sense as for some reason titans are assumed to be a melee centric class... who's Neutral game is just not that good to utilize this. It honestly doesn't make much sense, maybe in a future meta this will shine, but even after these changes titan basically got played in the name of not nerfing hunter dodge.

4 RepliesThe litteral best class ability of all classes... and you complain about it not getting buffed... Brah.
-
5 RepliesJust another warlock main with the “Bungie hates warlocks” mindset.
-
2 RepliesI personally think the healing rift is fine, the empowering rift does need a faster animation
-
9 Repliesobv, warlock rift is super strong
-
5 RepliesI’m not a warlock but here is the best tip for rift - do it behind cover, if you want to stand and shoot in it then make sure half of the rift is in cover. It’s arguably the best class ability (empowering particularly) so maybe just change up how you’re trying to employ it.

4 RepliesEdited by DiZ: 8/8/2021 10:13:07 PMHealing Rift is great, needs no changes. All someone needs to do to use Healing Rift effectively is pop it while in/near cover, so you can peek out and engage while still healing, or have extra time to disengage and then re-engage faster than your opponent because you've regenerated more health than them. Or better yet, pop it proactively instead of reactively, like I see most people do. Empowering Rift's damage buff is equal to the ones provided by Frontal Assault, Sun Warrior, "Empowering" melee, and Lumina; that being 20%. Aside from either minor improvements to some weapon TTKs, making optimal TTK easier, mitigating damage drop-off, and killing melee Supers easier, that amount will realistically let you do the following things:
- Still 2-tap with Aggressive, 120 RPM Hand Cannons - 2-tap with Ace with Mori procc'd or an Adaptive 140 RPM HC with Kill Clip active - 1-shot to the body with Aggressive, 72 RPM Snipers or Arbalest/Linear Fusion Rifles - 2-burst with Adaptive, 390 RPM Pulses - 1-shot to the face with Le Monarque 3/5 of those scenarios are technically survivable, but require that person to be at 60 Resilience or higher, and you won't find many people, even those aware of it, running Resilience that high outside of some Titans using specific builds(i.e. Heart of Inmost Light, Citan's, Icefall Mantle etc.)
I wouldn't call that laughable at best. I could maybe see a buff to cast time, but that's it personally.

12 RepliesIt's meant for a Quick heal not a mini well of radiance, warlocks have the most flexibility, the best builds, and have at least one great super in every element, they are the best pve class the rift is fine
-
2 RepliesIt would be pretty cool if Warlocks got a new exotic that enabled empowering and healing rift at the same time, would probably need a shorter duration and for ability cool down to begin once the rift is gone.
-
Rifts don’t need a buff my guy
-
3 RepliesRifts don't need a buff right now. They have their function and it works great
-
4 RepliesYou get a Overshield whilst in a Rift. It's already op as it is especially with Boots of the Assembly Line
