Low FPS and Sporadic freezing while in combat since Hotfix 3.1.1.1 (the latest one)

Ever since the latest hotfix, I have noticed a decrease in FPS while in combat. While nobody is shooting, FPS appears to be unaffected, however if I or some other teammates begin shooting, the game either freezes for a short duration, or drops down to 3-5 FPS. Most of the time freezes are only a couple milliseconds, however can extend to as long as 3 seconds. Freezing is most apparent while I am shooting. Upon light testing (e.g. shooting bad guys in trostland for a few minutes) I've noticed that the most lag occurred when shooting a weapon for the first time this session, and after that FPS began leveling out. The most notable examples of freezing occurred when popping nightstalker super (where the game froze for ~1 second) and when shooting a warmind cell (dragonfly and warmind cell caused about a quarter second. Warmind cell had global reach and warmind's protection.) Freezing also occured in pvp gamemodes, such as Trials. My computer's specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 @ 3.60GHz RAM: 16 GB in two 8 GB sticks GPU: Nvidia RTX 2070
My drivers are currently up to date. If it helps to know, I did not experience any performance issues of a similar nature when Beyond Light originally dropped. I would like to know if this is an issue affecting many other players and/or ways to fix tthe issue. If there is a more suitable place for me to post this, let me know. PS. I've also noticed that when inspecting a player, they sometimes dont have a head. I don't think this is related to the previous issue, but it probably should be reported nonetheless.

 • I know some of these steps sound dumb but hear me out. Re install the latest NVidia drivers Set mouse polling rate to 500hz as destiny 2 sometimes doesn’t like 1000hz Turn wind impulse to off in the in game settings Disable NVIDIA reflex is the destiny 2 CVars file there are plenty of videos online on how to do it And finally before you launch up the game hide offline on the steam friends list before you launch the game. It has something to do with the steam friends list updating in the background every 5 to 10 second which leads to stuttering and FPS drops in Destiny 2 specifically. Let me know if this worked for you.
