Macro usage to turn a 200 rpm scout into a full-auto 200rpm scout in ONLY PVE

Hi, Title says it all. Is it allowed to use an official mouse programming program like for ex.: SteelSeries Engine to give you the comfort of not having to spam the MB1 on like a 200 rpm scout rifle or a 300 rpm sidearm inside PVE? Reason i would like to do it: So that i dont have to click all the time during hours of Nightfall farming. Inside PVE i dont see the reason it would be bannable since there are versions of these 200 rpm scouts and 300 rpm sidearms that can roll with full-auto perks. If you know anything about rules considering this particular question ,can you direct me to an official post? I dont dare to try it until i see a trusted source approving it, not risking a 2800hrs account. Thanks for help in advance!

  • Under 8 of License Conditions of the LSLA it very clearly states this isn't allowed. However, Bungie really hasn't done anything about macros and even seems to encourage them so use at your own risk I guess. Personally, I'd say no but its just full on a scout that can roll auto and you want to do it for PvE. The LSLA can be found right here: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Legal/SLA

    • I use something like 20CPS autoclicker on buying materials. Something tells me they don't have any system to detect it cause I've left it over an hour before haha

    • I don't have an official source but I have heard these types of macros can be manipulated in game breaking ways and for that reason they are not allowed. I know it sounds silly, that's not how you intend to use it, but others do so it is a bannable offense to use an outside program to assist you in game.

    • I don't know the answer 100%, but I will say this. Are any macros allowed to run in this game? And if they are, how does Bungie know whether you're just using it for PvE or PvP. A macro that allows auto fire on a weapon that doesn't have it may give you an advantage in PvP, which Bungie would frown upon. But...like my first paragraph asks, are macros allowed to run, or does Bungie consider them cheats...?

Even if I were to use them in PvP (which I don't play PvP on pc anyway) then I would not be gaining an unfair advantage because of my special level of suckiness in that realm. 😁 With that said, I disagree with your reasoning in the above quote. Yes, weapons can roll with full auto but you would essentially be adding an additional perk by using a macro for it on a weapon that doesn't have it. Obviously I am not against the use of them and I don't see it as a bannable offense in the PvE side of things but I just disagree with your reasoning behind it.

    • pve? why not but deactivate it in pvp, what won't happen because you have advantage vs "legit" players

    • Interesting. Might I suggest Trustee? It's a full auto scout. Just in case...

    • It’s a macro. If you could do the same thing normally, yes.

    • In most other games I would have said no, it’s not allowed. But in Destiny... macros are fine. They really are. People have been using them for ages, whether it’s warlock dashing or the old titan skating. Macros are honestly a staple of Destiny, they haven’t gone anywhere and they’ve been allowed for years. Have fun with it, feel free to use macros.

    • I believe you are allowed to set one up because to my knowledge the TOS basically allows macros unless they’re used to stay inactive and all that, but I would double check it to be sure. A movement macro is one thing, a shooting one is another

    • I would suggest reading the ToS rather than relying on what people tell you here if you want to be 100% sure.

    • They won't allow it cause it would give comfort and serve the player.😁
