Destiny 2 Performance/Low FPS Issues - Discussion.

I know many people have spoken about this much already. I understand Bungie is aware of the issues. It feels terrible not knowing if a fix will come sooner or later and not knowing if we should even have hope. I recently built a new PC and I got back into playing Destiny as well. As newer hardware comes out, more and more PC player will be upgrading, which is a large portion of the Destiny 2 community. Whether or not many people currently have upgraded to the newer generation hardware, its inevitable that more and more players will, regardless if it is the highest end parts or not. This isn't just an "known issue for some PC players". This is the beginning of what may become a large issue for most PC players in regards to the game. I'm not here to bash Bungie or talk poorly of the game. I love the game and I personally understand where the game sits as far as content going into a new era of Destiny 2. This is just the beginning with MUCH greater content to come. Regardless of how many players are upgrading to the newer generation of hardware, I think its important to understand that players like myself who invest upwards of 3000$ into their new PC builds are some of the biggest fans of the game. And right now we feel a bit left in the dark. What may be a small percent of support tickets and threads right now could very well become a majority of a platform frustrated at the incompatibility or unoptimization between the game itself and their new hardware. I have no claims or assumptions about what Bungie staff are doing and thinking behind the scenes, but I am here to ask... Please, keep us in the loop. Let us know of the progress. Currently its difficult to even search for tweets or threads regarding this issue, and when we do find them there isn't much there to give us hope. I do not personally believe a "we are still investigating the issue" is enough. And again, that is not to bash anybody at Bungie, I am just telling the truth. The community is silently begging for a fix, and its impossible to impose one immediately, understandable. But what will REALLY and TRULY help us just get through this and give us hope and keep us playing is knowing and seeing and reading into what is currently going on with the investigation of this issue. I understand times are hard right now, especially regarding the global pandemic. What me and many players feel right now is that this issue is not of the greatest importance to the game to those at Bungie who are listening, but to me and everybody else experiencing the issue, it is of the upmost importance and is single greatest thing keeping us from truly enjoying the game, let alone actually being able to play it in many cases. We cannot expect everything to be fixed as soon as we wish it could, let alone demand it. But what is seemingly very possible right now is to have a greater frequency of updates, tweets, and whatever else that can express communication about this issue to the community. Even now as I am typing this I have reservations if this will even be taken into serious consideration if even seen. Whoever is out there at Bungie, please, this is a such a critical issue to us and I'm sure many of us feel that you do not take it as seriously as it is to us. And that's not to say that you don't, that's just what myself and many players are experiencing right now. I do not believe I am asking for much here... with any relationship, communication is the greatest foundation. I think everybody at Bungie does that very well for the most part. I feel like that principal should apply to this issue as we are going into the future of Destiny. Please, more updates on this issue. Do you guys have a test bench for these issues? How are you diagnosing them? Are there any potential fixes being tested? Is there some internal roadmap that has a sort of plan or progress? These are just a couple things that I feel would provide a HUGE relief to the part of the community who are having these issues. Bungie, we know you are listening, truly. You tell us you are listening and we understand. Please, show us you are listening. Show us that these are not just things said for public relations as some sort of corporate strategy for keeping the peace amongst players by giving them hope, even if that is not what we truly believe. Solidify that principal you all stand behind. Hope is an important theme and aspect within the game and the story of Destiny 2. Please make hope a minimum standard amongst the players for this issue, and consider this as being a first step towards a better system where players understand and read into the progress of issues like this one. I try not to read far into the older threads when this was an issue for previous generations of hardware like with the 5700XT where people are allegedly saying it took a year for a similar issue to be resolved. I just hope that you all at Bungie truly try to be overachievers and champions within the gaming industry. You have all done great things so far, but perhaps we have reached a point in time where communication between you guys at Bungie and the community has become stagnant in relation to the continual growth you all reach to achieve as a franchise and game developers. You are all leaders in what it takes to make a videogame great, perhaps it is time go evolve beyond support tickets and updates in the form of tweets and patch notes and community forums. At least with issues like this. But those are just my thoughts. Even with the current system you guys have in place it would still be enough to provide us with what I am asking for now. But what do any of us know? For all we have any idea of, you all could be working on a patch for next week that would solve everything. But we don't know. That is where I feel there is a disconnect. I could be typing this all out, and it could be for something that is already coming. It could be for nothing. It could be the start of a change that greatly improves community morale from here going into the future of the franchise. It could just be a message in a forum where the only replies are others also expressing their frustrations and the only scrap of hope we get is a "we are currently still investigating this issue". Maybe this thread can be the start of something more than that. Maybe we can get what I am asking for right here. Maybe we will get some insight into the inner workings of the investigation with this issue in this very thread. And at least then, maybe we will have hope. And people could share this to others experiencing the same issue so they truly have a greater understanding beyond what we currently have that this issue is being taken seriously, if there is progress or updates that could be given, and that you all at Bungie truly are showing us you are listening. Thank you for taking the time to read, and I only hope that maybe the same level of effort and passion can be put into change, a response, updates, a reply, comments about this. For reference, system specs: FRESH install of Windows 10 Home N PowerColor 6900XT reference spec Ryzen 9 5900X Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master Patriot Viper Steel 4400mhz 16gb dual channel memory kit EVGA G5 SuperNova 1000W Running the game at 1440p ultrawide, G SYNC IS OFF, none of the suggestions that anybody, including Bungie, has made have helped. Latest drivers and updates for all OS and hardware and software. Issue ONLY started happening when I upgraded to the new GPU. Since then all of the previous hardware listed was included in the new build. Performance overall was still poor in general on my 1080 AMP! Edition, which seems to point to a general issue with poor performance since the release of Beyond Light, separate of or contributing towards the MASSIVELY poor performance with latest gen GPUs. Sometimes performance is even WORSE when I start my PC, and I need to shut it down sometimes up to 2 times to go back to JUST "poor" performance. Modern Warfare 2019 is uncontestably and irrefutably a MUCH more graphically demanding game. In multiplayer at 1440p ultrawide with MAXED settings, raytracing off, no overclock, on my RYZEN 5 3600 BEFORE I UPGRADED to my 5900X, new RAM, or Mobo, I was getting 160-215 FPS. Just for reference, so whoever may read this understands how frustrating this might be for everybody experiencing this issue. When I load into the tangled shore, I get 20-30fps when I spawn. I get microstutters often. Crucible I get 50-60fps with stuttering. Some random areas of certain lost sectors or travelling between areas on a world I will get 144fps for 2 seconds, then it will drop down to whatever redundant, low frame rate my computer can scrap up. If I load into a wrathborn hunt on the tangled shore then go into the cave to fight one of the bosses, my frame rate randomly goes up to a, in regards to my system, a pathetic 90fps. There seems to be something that is happening with a greater performance impact that varies area to area, from one planet to another. Sometimes in the director I will get 30-40fps, thats when I know I need to shut down once or twice to actually play the game which otherwise would feel like trying to play Cyberpunk at 4k on ultra with last gen hardware. Please, Bungie, may we have a crumb of pu-- *ahem*, update? Please do not give me the same reply every other thread is getting. I will take it as either whoever is doing it as actually a bot and whoever made that choice does not enjoy having our voices heard or is bound to some protocol and rule as to what you can actually say when engaging with us or you simply have no respect for me and everybody else begging that this issue is fixed soon. I want to have a conversation with somebody, not be told it is an ongoing issue that is currently being investigated. And I'm sure many others are wanting the same.
