I’m bored waiting for my friends to get on to play, so I’ll give it a shot. Mind if I take small control of the situation for a bit? I’m just making a hole in the ceiling.

Another new chain
"If you wish, though if it believes you have what it came for it probably departed before the fall."
-
“If you say so. Should we head back?”
-
She looks out to the distant peaks and over the forested lands below, then takes in a deep breath and releases, "I suppose so. If your monster turns up in the future, I will do what I can to help."
-
“Thank you. Also, was there a reason I could read your books? The thing said they were warded, and that they couldn’t read their titles.”
-
"They were warded from otherworldly eyes." Nil leaps back onto the wall to avoid the glass covered hallway again. "So whatever the creature was, it was not from this realm. Though that hardly narrows it down."
-
“Strange. I’m not from around here myself. Maybe your spells saw me as friendly or something? I don’t know, I’m not a wizard.”
-
"You are human though, yes? Mortal? You're no demon or fairy or what not in disguise?"
-
“100%.”
I was jokingly going to roll an Insight check and rolled a nat 20! Now all of my rolls for D&D tomorrow night will be bad
"Well there you have it." Nil hops off the wall and walks back into the ballroom to attend the flame
-
“So, what will you do now?”
Always the worst, getting a nat 20 on something minor, knowing your next rolls will be average to horrible.
-
Peak D&D experience. Trying to defeat the big bad? Roll a 1. Beer Pong at the tavern? 20!
"First, a bath. Then I'll have a look around, scrounge up some fresh clothes, and hopefully find a lead on where my daughters are."
-
“If you need any help, just ask.”
-
"I appreciate the offer, but for now I think I just need some time to gather my thoughts."
-
“Understandable. Before I go, can you describe your daughters, so I know who to look for?”
-
"Well, they all share my face as they're technically clones... long story, botched magic involving the phylactery chamber. A happy accident. Anyway... Spring could easily be mistaken for a Dryad. Her eyes and skin are emerald green and her hair bright red. She loves nature, people, and helping others. Summer is much taller and a bit bulky, with tanned skin, dirty blond hair, and amber eyes. She's also fond of helping others, though usually in violent ways... Autumn is much like me, a vampire with pale skin, dark hair, and ruby eyes. She has a large pointed hat she loves to hide under. Very much a library mouse. And Winter has pale skin with a blueish tint, bright blue eyes, and snow white hair. She also has expensive taste in clothing and loves music and theater. A city girl."
-
“Alright, stay safe.” Geo exits the building.
So, was everything okay? I didn’t make it too difficult for you or anything?
-
"Daleth sh'ril," Nil bows her head, then adds, "Or, safe journeys!"
Not at all, I was mostly winging this one rather than keeping to pages of notes and such! Sorry it wasn't as action packed as other events, I just figured this way was a bit more organic than just dumping exposition via stories.
-
Oh, that’s fine. Whatever works for you!
-
New chain
"Good that you didn't. My true grimoire was hidden elsewhere! That one was a decoy, a trap enchanted to explode when opened."
-
“Yeah, I have a friend with the same trick. Do you have any idea what the creature was? It said it would find me someday.”
-
"Hivemind alone is not much to go off of, any more details?"
-
“Very red, I think it tried to take my soul? Also fought some plant zombies. Oh, and it was able to shapeshift.”
-
"I don't believe I've encountered anything like that before, sorry."
-
“Well, it was camped out in your library, wanted your book for the knowledge. It seemed as if it did this before, lots of bodies covered in red goop, it’s all over the ceiling too.”
-
"Hmm..." Nil rises and lights a bit of wood to use as a torch. "Well now I'm too curious. Care to join me?"
