Was your inventory full.
Trials tokens have never gone to post master.
Bungie said this from the start when trials returned.

They don't tell you this anywhere in the game. Not everyone goes and reads all the forums and updates from destiny. Every other item in the entire game goes to post master when inventory is full.. This is unnaceptable That this issues hasn't been addressed. Its also unnaceptable is no where to be found in the game as a wanting.

It's not an issue, and it has been addressed. Not every single thing is spelled it in the game.
