He's indirectly responsible for Cayde-6's death. Don't care if he dies, but if he does I hope it's more painful than being frozen and shattered 😡

Now hold on: He pushed a button that opened the cells. The rampage that ensued led to Caydes death. Cayde is partly responsible as he ran ahead and didn't check his surroundings before letting his ghost out. Though Ghosts can only be killed by paracasual bullets. He don't need to die, but he sure as hell owes Petra and the Awoken an answer to why he did what he did. If he's mad then he needs help. The Awoken deserve to put him on trial for abandoning his post and betraying their trust. I'd bring em in if I see, because Judgment is at hand.

Cayde shouldn't went gunslinger
-
He should’ve gone tether TBH.
-
Cayde-6 is responsible for his own death rushing in alone like that.
-
partly, just remember Ghosts can only be killed by paracausual bullets. That is bullets some how imbued with Light or Dark or if anything we don't know about exists then that. It's not as silly as you might think that he was confident none of their bullets would work on Sundance.

Prison of elders just wasn’t payin the bills 0_0

He wouldn't have been there against an unknowable enemy force if it weren't for Variks. Doesn't matter who you are. You go up against an enemy with no intel or prep you have a high chance of dying. We survived only because this is our story. Cayde wouldn't have played nice if he knew he was fighting darkness zombies.
-
The force wasn't "unknowable" as you put it. They confirmed in either lore entries or mission banter that Cayde helped imprison most of them.
-
the only reason hes permanently dead is cause HE pulled out his ghost. the guardian was fighting a giant zombie and petra was too far behind, they would have escaped anyway.

And carelessly whipping out his ghost
