SBMM is not needed.
SBMM polluted the game and created the skill gap that you seem to have described in this post.
SBMM made bad players think they were good and kept them in a bubble, shielded from the average or decent players.
CBMM needs to stay permanently (and comp actually needs a proper ranking system) to reverse the effects of SBMM.

Simple. Give the choice of sbmm. If it is true that most prefer cbmm then you won’t see any difference in you experience. This is a game, most people want to have fun, being constantly massacred is not. So what is it to you if some choose sbmm. Not everyone is Michael Jordan yet we can all enjoy some hoops. Statistics wise, if there was a choice, then we would know for real who prefers what.

Do you understand “choice” you can choose cbmm. And if you are right the majority will choose cbmm. Casuals and blueberries are barely playing, so you won’t notice a difference. So, why be so condescending. Now maybe you fear that a majority will choose sbmm? And you get your ego inflated by stomping blueberries? If you are really good, you are good against your peers.

Good way to split the player pool. People will gravitate towards sbmm due to it making them feel good, then cry when they go into actual pvp. Sbmm does not belong in any casual mode period. It's already bad enough seeing people who kd farm in qp get destroyed in trials then cry. Sbmm pollutes games and it takes ages to remove the impacts it had

Yo, I like to look at statistics, where are you finding these numbers that prove the efficacy of SBMM vs CBMM? I'm personally of the belief that SBMM is more fun, but that is probably because I suck at PvP

Last season the lowest crucible dropped to was 375k it held around 400k or higher and this is with SBMM. This season the numbers have gone well below that with the lowest so far at 283k and dropping, and before people say anything on Tuesday there were 925k players that signed into destiny with only 304k that played crucible. So to answer the question before it's asked pve is hardly down. Only crucible is plummeting.
