SBMM is not needed. SBMM polluted the game and created the skill gap that you seem to have described in this post. SBMM made bad players think they were good and kept them in a bubble, shielded from the average or decent players. CBMM needs to stay permanently (and comp actually needs a proper ranking system) to reverse the effects of SBMM.

  • Every single guardian shares the same health, damage, class cooldown, etc Either were all part of the MLB or were all part of team A but regardless of which video games are totally fair, just like the mets dont get to not play the Yankees bottom tier players dont get to dictate whom they do or do not match I'd also point out how you compare competitive sporting leagues to laid back 6vs6 when really it should be compared to comp

    My experience with this is interesting. The current matchmaking system results only in matches (in comp) wherein one team almost always goes 4-0 against the opposing team. I do not find it fair nor fun to win 4-0 against other players or lose in the same way. That is not balanced whatsoever, it is unfair for my opponents in my won matches and unfair to my team in my loss matches. There are exceptions where the matchmaking appears to work well and matches are close (3-4, 2-4) but the majority finish 4-0 or 4-1. Im interested to see how this is received.

  • Welcome to sbmm. Comp is so dead and broken that the lobby balancing doesnt work. It used to be glory based matchmaking with connections but the bad players cried so they made it sbmm

  • It doesn't work because Bungie didn't program it right. The Bungie we have no is nowhere close to good with lobby balancing as the Bungie back in the Halo days. It's like this Bungie is a corpse with a fungus using the body as a puppet.

  • It doesn't work because this game just doesnt have a measure of skill. Glory was the best method we had and they added sbmm cause the bad players complained about not being able to reach god damn fabled. Halo had a decent ranking system and wasn't nearly as chaotic.

  • Who does CBM make the game fun for, specifically? Is the point or PVP to be a hypercompetitive arena of pain and death where the strong survive and everyone else can go hang? Or be eaten? Or driven out of the crucible because it's become simply inaccessible? Or is the point of this game to be the most fun for the most number of people? Allowing, say, two lobbies for Control (one connection, the other skill based) would allow both, no? Everyone gets to have the experience of their choice without getting bullied or farmed.

  • We had that, except no one except really good players went into the CBMM lobby so it became extremely sweat.

  • Then there you go cb was in the game and people still played sb it took the removal of sb from everything but comp and forced players to play under cb. You s'y cb was perfered but yet even when it was in game only small group played.

  • When did I say it was preferred, I’m happy for the really good players because now they can enjoy pvp and have some games not feel like it’s ur flawless match of trials. Bungie will probably change it back to SBMM so let’s let those good players enjoy their time while they still have CBMM

  • They had cbmm when shadow keep dropped and yet still -blam!- about sb even when they had a cbmm game mode. They were pissed because nobody but a few wanted cb and forced it on everyone this season and its causing people to quit pvp. Im not sayn remove cb from game but dont force it on people just too appease other players.

  • That may be how you felt it was but not how others felt. We had cbmm in the game the majority of players ignored it so it felt no different then sb. Fact remains you enjoy cbmm now more then before is because the player base as a whole has been forced to play it to placate higher skilled players.

  • Classic mix was hidden in a corner next to private matches so only those who knew of its exsistance knew to select it. What's your counter to quickplay foring foraken being cbmm while every other mode was sbmm and the 1 cbmm mode saw more players then all sbmm modes combined? Literal proof cbmm is preferred

  • Classic mix was not hidden anymore then any other mode simple fact was it wasn't likes by most players. I dont believe forsaken was full cbmm like now maybe it was tweaked but my matches where no different then any other time before. Please it's the go to game mode in the pvp set up and just like this season it dropped quickly. I'm not saying remove cb but aint no reason that there can't be a 6v6 thats sb.

  • Why do finding classic nightfalls take so long? It's a tiny node in a corner Why does reckoning see so few players vs gambit? Its hidden at the top a tiny node Why was 6vs6 cbmm quickplay so popular in forsaken but not touched by shadowkeep? Because it was moved to a tiny node in the corner and forgotten If you want aspic mix or 1 sbmm 6vs6 mode then fine, but the primary modes of control and clash need to remain as they are

  • CBMM makes it fun for everyone. People have to realize that sweats have faced other sweats in CBMM, I have checked elo’s from my previous games. All sbmm did was shield lower skilled players so you wouldn’t have to run into skilled players. CBMM is the way to go as it doesn’t filter and allowed everyone to play each other instead of keeping sweats away from everyone but themselves.

  • Qp is not meant to played competitively, it’s Quickplay not comp or trials. Qp should have no sbmm whatsoever, if you want to play people of your skill level you should play comp.

  • Average player: Games should feel more consistent, not as locked to a 50/50 win ratio (they still are, it just wont always feel this way), and you will get more variety opponents and teammates wise. Above average/decent player: Same as average but MUCH more consistent and room to use other stuff Top like 10%: Same as above average but much more freedom to have fun and much better connections. Top 1%: You can actually find matches, they wont be sweatfests, everyone wont be from the other side of the world, and you can use whatever really. It only isnt "fun" for the below average player, but the jump from below average to above average is literally just using common sense. If you are bad dont expect to do good lol. Two lobbies would split the playerbase and just be a budget sbmm.
