Her real name is Elsie Bray. Sometime around the Collapse, she turned herself into an Exo to survive. And since she was studying the Vex and their technology, she managed to master time travel. She isn’t a Guardian, she’s just a bad ass time Traveler.

That actually hasn’t been [i]confirmed[/i], to my knowledge. Everyone just believes it since there’s a few pieces of evidence that suggest it. However, until Bungo says it’s true, it’s just a theory. Not sure why people actually [i]want[/i] to know who she was anyway....the whole point of her character is to be a mystery, a stranger. Can’t y’all just leave it at that?

It’s [i]very[/i] heavily implied that Elsie Bray and the Stranger are one in the same. So much so that it basically is confirmed in every sense other than being outright stated.

Unfortunately implications still aren’t facts. Again, until a Bungie official/ the story of the game confirms that it’s Elsie in there, it’s all just rumors and fan theories. Because there is so much that implies it, it is widely accepted as fact by the community, even though that is not yet the case.

We have enough information without needing it to be said that they’re the same person. Do you really need someone to tell you that the sky is blue, or can you simply look up at it and figure it out yourself that the sky is blue?

Nope, she ain’t a Guardy. Says herself in D1 that she don’t got Light. Not to mention, that little critter she got [i]ain’t[/i] no Ghost. I’d sure as hell like to get my hands on it, though....... The Stranger is just that, a Stranger. Only thing we [i]know[/i] about her is that she is in contact with someone/ thing, hasn’t got time to explain and is an Exo.
