My fellow Rouges, let us Rally against the Praxic Inquisition(Fan Fic/In character speech)

Basically I imagined a faction war between Rouge Lightbearers and the Praxic Order: A Rouge Warlock stands in a Chamber some where upon the Drifters Derelict. They had sought a shelter safe from the Inquisitions tyranny. She has gathered all the Rouge Lightbearers here to deliver a speech, which is as follows: (We are told by our enemies that we are "dead things" which make other things dead as well, that we are instruments of destruction born from the Travelers whims. Some would say that we are born as loyal dogs with blind loyalty to our mother, the Traveler. But is this so? We are raised without any memory of our previous life, yet with all of our skills intact. Are we her pawns? Certainly a being capable of resurrection could have brought us back with our memories as well. Does the Traveler, our divine mother have an agenda of her own? Perhaps her own survival? Then are we merely her custodians and gaurd dogs that wade through the darkness, so that she doesn't have to get her shell dirty? She lingers above the city and slowly heals herself, yet she does nothing about the approach of this oncoming storm of darkness? Are we to be her sacrifice? Are we to fight her battles? She has caught us up in an eternal struggle, one that precedes our very time. Her presence in our system might have very well drawn the darkness to us, and incited our first collapse. She may have aided us, but she is not good or evil. She is merely concerned with her Survival and some day as she had abandoned the Fallen she may very well abandon humanity. The Traveler may be akin to a mother, but she is not our master or savior, only we can save ourselves. She has Raised us from the grave, but she does not own us. We retain our will. If the darkness offers it's power to us than shouldn't we wield it alongside our Mother's Light? Who could stand against humanity then if we possessed both Light and Dark? Savathun must fear our contact with the Deep and hold contempt over the possibility that we could take to the shadows with much more cunning and finesse than the Hive ever could. The Praxic Inquisition takes to the city streets, they quarter and slay those who don't bend the knee to their dogmatism, to their zealous drive for the purity of their light. Yet Light and Dark are merely two sides of the same coin, nothing which exists can exist without it's opposite to contrast against it. Light and Dark do not need to be at odds with one another when they can be wielded together, each in a different hand. Dusk and Dawn are profoundly beautiful and spiritual, do you know why? Because Light and Shadow bleed into one another conjoined as bride and groom in those twilight hours, within those witching hours great crafts can be done. Twilight exists as perfect harmony and balance. Rally my fellow Shadows, those who are Rouge, our Gambit shall reign eternal. All of us together: Rouges, Shadows, Dregens, we who are hunted by the Inquisitions misplaced drive for purity and supremacy, we shall rise up, we shall ascend! As one force rises to meet another the greater force always supercedes, We have justice and truth on our side, they only have their blind dedication to the light. Just because one wields the light does not mean they are good, don't ever forget why the Iron Lords needed to exist during the Dark Ages? Likewise, wielders of darkness can be good and we don't deserve this witchhunt, this Praxic Inquisition is doomed to fail, their attempts to hamper our growth is futile. We are our own Salvation, Rise up and claim it, Our names shall be known, While the Praxic Order will be reduced to a pile of cold forgotten ash.) Edit: Queue the song, "You want it Daker by Leonard Cohen": The Praxic comb the last city marching in perfect unison, With Aunor as their Fuhrer, she had arrested authority from the Vanguard and locked down the city underneath Martial Law. The Vanguard tanks repainted in Praxic colors and symbols, the ships adorned with Praxic markings, their war machine grinding up and sharpening it's teeth ready to strike at a moment's notice. Aunor in the office that once belonged to Zavala hits the comms and her voice reverberates throughout every corner of the city: "Hear me people of the city, Your Vanguard has been resolved, stripped of their command and driven out in exile. They where weak willed and incompetent fools who allowed rats to breed dissent in our hallowed halls. Yet I assure you people of the city that as your new Fuhrer I shall not allow the lights purity to be corrupted by filth or dissent such heresy is not and never was forth coming nor shall it be allowed to stand. We are Gaurdians no more, from today onward we are only Praxic and those who dabble in the dark shall be melted away by our divine flames. All hail the Traveler, All hail the Light, All hail our flames of perdition. Arise my Praxic, for tonight we take flight to burn their blight from the stars, our forces in the Hidden tell me they are on the Drifters Derelict and we shall incinerate them into space dust in one fell swoop. After her speech they snap into attention and salute her, hail Fuhrer Aunor the city proclaims as they march in unison to war with the Rogues. Elsewhere the Drifter has hidden his ship on Europa and caught the Hidden spies red handed. Days later the solar system would be alive with Lightbearers killing each other and getting the rest of the system caught in their crossfire. With Zavala and Ikora no where to be found. Saladin sides with the Rouges while Shaxx and Dead Orbit retreat to the Dreaming city with a few who refuse to give up being Gaurdians and some citizens in tow. After a month the Rouges claim the Reef as their new base and set up diplomatic relations with the Awoken, the solar systems Lightbearers would spend hundreds of years at war with one another. Till one day like it had done the Fallen, the Traveler just leaves them all alone and in that hour the Rouges push back against Aunor's Toxic Light and reclaim the Last City in the name of justice. All hail the Twilight!

 • Ah, I see you’ve written another piece on Rogues vs Praxics. I suppose you didn’t see the post, but there’s a fanfic contest that ends at the end of today, and this story fits the prompt. So if you’re interested you can check the contest out and submit this as an entry. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/256177639/0/0 Okay, my feedback. The big thing that bugged me right at the very beginning was the location: Why the heck are a bunch of self-proclaimed Rogue Lightbearers having a gathering in the City? It seems like a rather stupid place to gather since they’re calling themselves rogues (plus the cliche of the room being dark might be a little much). But this was well done. It’s a very good representation of the extreme views of the anti-Traveler/Anti-Praxic/Pro-Light+Dark people that rose out of Gambit.
