Allo there,
Bungie are currently investigating this issue. The current work around for now is to use an alternate character. Once you get to the stage of unlocking the decoder, you can get use your main character to decode the ones you have in your inventory and then take the drifters one.
This should be fixed in 2.9.0.1 which is due for release on Monday if you don't want to do the work around above.

Edited by Snelo85: 6/12/2020 10:10:30 AMI have actually solved it!! :) You can switch to another character, travel to the tower to speak with the drifter, when you speak with him the abandoned quests come up (in the face of darkness) select and collect the engram decypher it then return to you other player and then you can collect all the stacked engrams :) A little back and fourth but it works:)
