As he walks, a cloaked man using a cane is seen walking towards him.

Errol stops and waits for the man to approach. “Good evening, my friend. May I ask for directions to the nearest town?”
-
“Hm? Oh yeah, head in the direction I came from. What’s your name?” The stranger seems......young, for using a cane:
-
“Thank you,” he replies politely, glancing the man’s cane curiously, “and I am called Errol. May I ask your name?”
-
“Blaze.” He looks up and down at the man. “Where have you come from?”
-
“Home, though I seem to have... lost my way. What is this place? I assume we’re still in Offtopic?”
-
“Yup, still in Offtopic. Decided to look around a bit, myself. This time next week, I’ll be manning the bar.....” Blaze stops and thinks.
-
“A bar, you say? A glass of scotch sounds good, if I am to be honest.” Errol looks again at Blaze’s cane. “Pardon my asking, but aren’t you young to be needing a cane? You do not seem much older than myself.”
-
“Ah, my cane.” For a moment, you think you see a grin showing teeth from beneath the hood, but it disapears before you can see if it was real or not. “You see, I broke my leg a while back, so I must use the cane. My leg can still be painful.”
-
“I would say that I am sorry to hear about that, but I cannot tell whether or not you are amused by it... in spite of the pain.”
-
“Why would I be amused?” He sounds slightly confused. His hand shifts forward on his cane, letting you see glints of metal from it.
-
Errol lets out a soft chuckle. “Perhaps because your cane holds a little secret. Some could say a dangerous one?”
-
“Huh?” Blaze sounds very confused. “No, it’s a cane, see, I can spare a few moments on my leg.” Blaze holds his cane in both hands, and you see the glint cane from his glove. The cane seems normal.
I messed up with the glint part, didn’t I. :/
-
“I see.” Errol doesn’t sound wholly convinced, but nonetheless passes the subject with roll of his shoulder. “You said you work at a bar?”
Idk lol. Did you not mean to give away that Blaze had a sword in there?
-
“Hm? Oh yes, I see. What do they look like?” Blaze goes back to using his cane normally.
-
“A tall lass with dark hair and green eyes. She carries a bow with her and has a... fresh scar on her face. If you have spoken to her, she has an accent like mine and is constantly apologizing for ridiculous reasons.” He maintains his friendly tone, though the more he speaks of this person a hint of annoyance becomes noticeable. Even as he describes her, he still has his curious gaze set on Blaze’s hands.
-
“Hm.....” You notice a spark leap from his glove.
-
Errol’s brow twitches with interest at the spark, but continues to wait patiently for Blaze’s reply. His eyes move away from his hands and focus on his face.
-
“I think I met someone like that........good fighter, too......”
-
“Quite, though she never reached her potential.” He frowns. “Do you happen to know where she went?”
-
“No. Didn’t learn much about her, besides how jittery she gets from being hit with lightning.” Blaze stops.
-
Errol tilts his head. “Did you have something to do with that?”
-
Blaze remains silent for a moment. “Have you ever seen a man walk out of the dark tell the truth?” He asks suddenly, staring right at you.
-
Errol chuckles again, but his frown soon returns. He doesn’t seem to care about Blaze’s staring. “You don’t trust me. Don’t worry, I understand. But I have unfinished business to settle with that lass. She knows me quite well.” There is still a strange slyness in his voice.
