The new Iron Banner armor quest is kinda perfect
just the right amount of grind
no where near as ridiculous as last seasons
and it provides you with the weapons you need for each step
I have not been a fan of most changes this season but this was a good move
thanks Bungie

Besides the fusion rifle req....
-
Wish it wasn't required to spend tokens, however wasn't all that bad, gave gear along the way and was way less of a painful grind to get done. Never again swords... Never again...
-
having a forced quest like that is just terrible design. cant get rewards without finishing the repetitive steps with mediocre guns that prohibit you from playing a competitive crucible mode the way you want.
-
Agree. It is an easy quest line. The only downside it brings is that everybody was using Recluses and Erentils. I would rather see Bungie changing it to primary only quests. Hand cannons, auto rifles, pulse rifles, scout rifles and maybe the first step still like super kills.
-
I thought locking buying packages until you completed the quest was pretty low of Bungie to be honest. You’ve earned those tokens, you should be able to spend them whenever Saladin is in the tower. Other than that I thought the quest was ok.

I agree. I can finally go back to playing each Iron Banner in the season with a different character instead of having one toon's quest stretching over 2 seasons. Also, for me, the last match for the Triumph for playing with a full set of Season 8 armour also completed my last Iron Banner bounty. I really felt like it was tailor-made for an average pvp-er like myself. The only change I'd make is for the IB bounties to all be available on day 1 instead of drip-fed throughout the week.
-
I enjoyed it. It was nice to put in some time and get something worth it
-
Agree not much of a pvp player but got it done in 2 and 1/2 hours.
-
untill everyone you play is on the fusion step. 😂 i almost broke my screen
-
I agree 100%. In the past I would never do the iron banner quest because I suck at pvp but this season I gave it the attempt and had a great time. It took me around 2 hours and change of grinding, but it felt very rewarding and worth it.
-
That is absolutely true. Except no new weapons. 1 step forward 2 step back.

Agreed, did two characters and each took a chill day of not sweating solo to do. Easy peasy, I did see the forums blow up before I got on and thought “maybe not gonna like this new quest” but when I saw it was 20 kills for each type I was surprised. I will say pulse rifles took the most time because I kept getting twilight gap on my first go around. I also liked the diversity I had of different weapon types, I use multiple load outs anyway so I’m accustomed to adapting. Maybe next time it could be improved by having all steps on one page so if there’s a “Bow” and “Sidearm”, “Scouts”, “shotguns” and “snipers” people can work on two or more steps at the same time? Just as thought -
It was stupid easy because it kept track of cumulative progress in several areas (kills, zones, super kills, even the final SMG step).
-
I wouldnt use the word 'good' to describe anything Iron Banner related to D2. Now, IB in D1 was good.
-
It was a decent balance. Objectives were simple and straight forward. Weapons they asked to use were not garbage tier weapons. Gets people in the groove. Ultimately, though, it was their way of just making sure everyone that's been hoarding tokens since Y1 didn't get everything without even stepping foot in banner.

Edited by Paladin: 10/22/2019 3:14:20 PMYeah, and the armor is awesome too! It looks pretty good and drops with pretty high stats, so it’s definitely useful. My only real issue was that there weren’t any new weapons. Even if it was just Y1 weapons that haven’t been returned with random rolls yet, it would be awesome to have some more weapons. I miss frostmire’s hex

It is light years of improvement over the last IB quest. 👍
-
Wtf are you smoking bro... Can i have sum? I cant get the sub kills i need to finish the bounty. Its bugged out and wont count my kills
-
below average quest for below average armor.
-
Totally agree. MUCH better this time around. I wish I had time to run my 3rd character.
-
I will admit, this quest actually got me to play more Banner than I ever did in any previous event in D2. For the first time, I actually ran all three characters, got all the bounties done, and had a rather enjoyable time. The quest isn't too tedious outside of a few parts (Looking at you 25 Pulse Rifle Kills when all I see are scouts), and it makes it completable in a relatively short timespan compared to some of the other longer grinds in the game. So hats off to the Crucible team, you actually got me to play Crucible willingly for as long duration of time for the first time in the history of this title.
-
The other quest was better. This quest was way to easy.
-
I was worried that it was going to be the same deal as last season where the pursuit took all season, very happy with it this time. Finished all 3 characters in one week, hopefully they do it again next season the same way.
-
Agreed. Nice balance.
-
Agreed. It can be completed on multiple characters in one week unlike the last quest.
-
Really enjoyed it, did it twice 😊
