Massive thanks to my fireteam. You are the real MVP's
Pros
- Divinity being a quest exotic is a good move, Bungie. Raid exotics should be feats of both determination as well as intellect. RNG based exotics in raids are merely just feats of patience, which wears thin after every raid completion with no results
- The tether mechanic is pretty fun! especially when it comes to the Divinity puzzles
- The whole scenery of the black garden is oddly soothing
- The soundtrack is digital heaven (LITERALLY it sounds like a digital choir)
- The gear in the raid is phenomenal. Sure the armour may be a slight reskin, but the weapons. Oh my god the WEAPONS!!
Cons
- The Phenotype Plasticity set should have been the raid armour while the raid armour should have been the season rank ornaments, the season rank ornaments just fit so much better as well as the fact that the community would have like those better than reskinned armour for the raid.
- The final encounter against the sanctified mind has got to be one of the biggest cluster-blam!-s I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Mechanics in a raid are all well and good but can you PLEASE let us focus on one thing at a time bungie?!
That's my 2 glimmer, Will I step back in at some point? Maybe, depends on how much I want the pulse or hand cannon, I hear they're borderline meta

Team Rocket
Loving Father - old
I completed it last night and got my Divinity as well. Last encounter I will agree is such a cluster fu.ck. it needs some work. -
Edited by ToRni27: 10/20/2019 8:42:18 PMThe divinty exo quest will be a pain for all the late comers. Its easy to find people to do the quest now but wait what will happen in 3 months. Nobody wants to do divinty quest in every other raid. A random boss drop is better if you can force it 100% as soon as you reach 25 clears. Easy solution. I am just saying. I get all exo at the start of each season anyways but for all people who do this quest later; good luck to find people to do it a 6th or 10th time to help someone to get the quest done.

Lol, now be good and don’t crash other players’ games w that Divinity now....
-
Personally I liked the Sanctified Mind a lot. Just have 4 guys catch gaze and 3 guys constantly dunking motes and the encounter becomes a lot more fun when the main concern is killing minotaurs kinda fast (The 3rd dunker is the first gaze catcher)

"Mechanics in a raid are all well and good but can you PLEASE let us focus on one thing at a time bungie?!" It's a raid. It's going to have it. It's not going to be a simple walk in the park. It's supposed to be challenging and only the strong minded people that don't give up and follow the mechanics move on. Look at Riven in LW. She had more micromanaging than GoS.
-
I do agree the final cp is a bit much in how it piles things. I wish we had raids in D2 like they were in D1.
-
Can’t believe you did the raid and didn’t invite me to your fireteam 🥺
-
Raid has nothing to do with the moon or shadowkeep. Raid has nothing to do with the campaign. No emblematic boss. 3 weapons plus 1 exotic. I’m happy you just joined destiny and are having, but we have not. We expect more than the need to shine on a forum bc of a random drop. But yes I agree, the music is the only really good and clean aspect of shadowkeep, except destination ambiance.
-
The end boss is in a terrible state and is easily the hardest part of the raid. You’ve got tethers that deactivate randomly when no one shot them or they DONT deactivate when you build a platform. You’ve got motes falling off the map/through the ground which is stupid. You’ve got tether problems on the boss as well, My team has had on two occasions now where the bank is 100% charged but no matter what the boss can’t be tethered. Once/If the bugs all get fixed it wouldn’t be so bad but it’s terrible right now

Its good. Its also complete bulls-it that it doesnt work on the bosses you want it to.
-
There should be a visual cue on the ground that lets you know how far you can go while tethered.
-
I disagree with tethers being fun, they are frustrating and buggy, they need a better way to connect to the next teammate like you get to shoot the tether at them or something so you can choose
-
I am personally a huge fan of vex (Curse of Osiris DLC did them dirty ;-;) and I love almost everything about this raid. The only things that I dislike are the universal ornaments being from eververse season pass and not being the gear from the raid, and I don't like how buggy tether can be at times. The music is fitting ("Temptation" in the ost is awesome in my opinion), the first encounter is my favorite encounter out of all the raids, and FINALLY a quest exotic for the raid!
-
The final boss wasn’t bad for me. It was my first clear too and it took 3 tries to kill him. We used the 3 teams of 2 strat and it was great. I had a lot of fun. I’m also on PC
-
Me and my team rage quit because we couldn't do the last divinity puzzle
-
Is it true that the frame drop on the final boss is horrendous?
-
So the pros really have nothing to do with the raid? I was already unsure if I would try it but this pretty much confirmed it for me.
-
Honestly (my opinion may change if I am a builder next time), but I’m loving the Sanctified Mind strike. It’s not Spire of Stars level of micro management, but it isn’t Scourge of the Past level either. I find it to be a perfect in-between of chaos and difficultly. Also, the portals remind me of Atheon, but with a cool little twist on the whole thing to mix it up.
-
I got lucky. I got invited into a Raid that was at the Final Boss and had done all the puzzles beforehand. So I got Divinity and skipped all the puzzles.

Dont agree with the cluster -blam!- mechanic con. Its fairly easy to keep track of stuff once you did it a few times. Defenders worry about defending the spires and about rebuilding (and the occasional cyclops/ pull team out of mote area). Mote teams worry about shielded adds and getting the required motes, these guys should also pay attention to the cyclops when they return from the mote area’s and they should pay attention to pulling teams out of mote area’s. As soon as you can dps you have 2 teams doing either side’s tether.l (one team left, one team right). You can take alot of time before the first tether has to be formed from relay to boss so take that time to clear ads and get set up for the dps phase (grab ammo, reload weapons, use supers, etc). As soon as one team starts the tether, the other team needs to stay clear from the tether because the tether prefers players over the boss connector (if a player is near, it will always go for the player instead of the other connector). Repeat that for the second dps tether and you have done a succesfull rotation.
-
What do you mean by a cluster? The last encounter is basically comprised of a few mechanics. 1. kill angelic, send invader(s) to gather motes 2. sending invaders spawns cyclops, kill those unless you like getting blown up 3. banking motes gives you buff to kill shield dudes 4. rebuild platforms as action allows 5. tether to boss for DPS, the extension is great as it gives you about double the time to DPS. 6. rebuild after DPS
-
The phenotype plasticity is a reskin of the Substitutional armor. You're going to get a reskin regardless, and the current Raid armor is more aesthetically similar to the Raid boss. ... What's so clustercluck about it? All you do is send a team of 2 through one portal to gather motes while the 4 deal with 1 Cyclops, then when they come back the next team goes through. You do some repairs if necessary, break some shields, take care of the cyclops. Then when returning you set up to do Tether, with both team at their respective sides. One side completes it, while the other side is in position then you do it again. Boss damage then repairs. Also, kill Angelics when they spawn which is fairly easy when you have snipers and anti-barrier rounds. It's basically just clockwork. It's less complicated than CoS.
-
If one person isn't doing their job during the boss fight, that's when it becomes a cluster -blam!-
-
The last encounter is a cluster because it's very, very heavy on players sticking to their assignments. People being out of place, jacking up a tether, not killing the Cyclops, losing motes, etc will all usually result in a wipe. Combine this with people still not being familiar with it and it's gonna be rough for a little while.
