Can We Get Details About How Destiny's RNG System Works?

I've been thinking recently, and I'm really quite interested in how your RNG system actually works, with regards to what drops and how you've implemented "duplicate protection". I have made a long list of RNG related posts before now, and am no stranger to the feeling that certain things will never be attainable. That said, I think it'd be fair to the community if we actually knew what was going on behind the scenes, so we'd have some form of expectations when content drops. This post was sparked by what my clan-mates and I are dubbing the "Monte Carlo Saga". There is a group of about 9 different people that I have played with regularly since Shadowkeep came out. Of those 9, 7 have gotten Monte Carlo to drop (most within the first couple days), while the other two have barely had time to actually grind powerfuls/play the game. I too have not gotten the drop, but I have now received 13 duplicate exotics in a row. I should add the MC is the only RNG exotic I do not have---otherwise my collection is otherwise full, with the exception of Legend of Acrius and Divinity. Now, before you jump on me and say "you can't expect everything right away", believe me, that's not the case. When looking at my case as an individual, I can say that I'm perfectly fine with not getting it to drop, and would normally not expect it for a month or so. Its more-so the fact that everyone I'm surrounded by has gotten lucky, and I'm once again on the bad side of RNG. Like I said, I'm no stranger to this. Multiple of the people who have Monte Carlo also had an easy time getting Anarchy, with it only taking 3-5 clears. As for me, I had to run the raid 3 times a week for 30 weeks before getting it to drop. During the entirety of Season 4 (Forsaken), I got only 3 new exotics despite putting in hundreds of hours. I had a similar occurrence in Season of Opulence, when I had 15 duplicate exotics before getting a new one. All of that said, this post is coming from curiosity, not saltiness. Its not that I feel like everything should be handed to me right away, but that I want to know why I am always getting the short end. This is why I asked about the system you have in place for RNG---I feel like understanding that would help me to understand why I have had awful luck for over a year, and the same players always have good luck. Duplicate protection intrigues me too, as of the 13 duplicates I have gotten this season: 2 have been Crimson, and 2 have been Huckleberry. Its hard to believe any protection exists if I'm getting dupes of my dupes before getting the new stuff. I know Bungie has never opened up about any of this, but I feel its worth a post. Keep it civil in the comments, and eyes up.

Pray to the almighty RNG Gods that your precious light is worth the high power rolls or the God tier perks or the exotic drop youve always wanted. Cause RNG God hates us all.
